In the Food Safety and Quality department by:
The intern will assist in evaluating imported and commodity products to ensure they meet established food safety and quality standards. This may include reviewing product specifications, ingredient lists, and processing methods.
A key responsibility will be to review and facilitate the approval process for product specifications. This involves ensuring all necessary details are accurately documented and comply with regulatory and internal requirements.
The intern will be involved in examining documentation submitted by potential and existing suppliers to verify their adherence to food safety and quality protocols. This will contribute to maintaining a robust and compliant supplier network.
In addition to these ongoing responsibilities, the intern will be assigned a specific food safety related project. The scope and nature of this project will be determined, providing an opportunity for the intern to apply their knowledge and contribute to a meaningful initiative within the department. This project will allow for the development of practical skills and a deeper understanding of food safety challenges in the imports and commodities sector.

Operate baler machines to compress and bind recyclable materials such as cardboard plastic, scrap metal, etc. Monitor machine performance and perform routine equipment checks and notify maintenance personnel as needed.

Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on the baler.
Responsibility 2
Sort, load, and unload materials in a safe and efficient manner.
Remove finished bales, tag them, and prepare them for transport
Feed recyclable or waste material into the baler.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.

Assist with general labor tasks including material handling, sweeping, and organizing inventory.
Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures. Follow all LOTO procedures.

Keep docks inside and out clean from trash and debris.
Qualifications and Training:
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Prior experience is an advantage.
Preferred to have one (1) year of forklift experience with valid forklift licenses and driver's licenses -or- must pass MIOSHA Equipment Operator Permit for Powered Industrial Trucks.
Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Requirements

Position Summary:
Performs professional-level health, safety, and environmental duties in the following functional areas: risk analysis, compliance management, incident investigation, training, policy implementation, and regulatory reporting. Works closely with division leaders to provide services for a designated geographic region and shared services.
Essential Functions:
Serve as the liaison/HSE business partner between various teams and the division. Understand the business.
Support the division by providing guidance and technical expertise to ensure continuous compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
Oversee or participate in various events including training, wellness, orientation, and other division HR events.
Educate leadership on safety best practices, provide data-driven insights on safety metrics, and coach employees and managers on safety, practice, or policy issues. Respond to and investigate complaints.
Promote and educate on Gordon Food Service safety initiatives. Facilitate training and monitor required safety training and development for completion.
Manage all aspects of environmental compliance, including permits and regulatory reporting.

Develop and implement HSE programs tailored to the division's needs.
Analyze data to identify trends and managerial root causes, making data-driven recommendations for process improvements.
This position works with limited supervision and is responsible for instructing and checking the work of others.

Gordon Food Service takes pride in delivering seamless order processing and delivery to our customers, and our warehouse staff is the backbone of our success. As a freight handler, you'll support our team by safely removing pallets of product from the trailer and breaking down the product for the correct pallet configuration. You will also separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets, ensure that damaged product is properly accounted for and not received into the warehouse for sale inventory, and account for the structural integrity of pallets. There's no experience required - we'll train you how to get the job done!

Position Summary:
Provides friendly and efficient customer service, order processing and delivery support to customers of Gordon Food Service via phone, email and internet. Strengthens customer relationships through strong product knowledge and product application, delivery coordination, and error resolution. Promotes and utilizes E-Commerce technologies.
What you will do:
Answers customer questions, investigates and corrects errors to solve customer problems.

Establishes rapport and working relationship with National Account Coordinator, National Account Manager, National Account Pricing Analyst , Chain Accounts Logistics Specialist, Logistics Sales Support Analyst, Credit Managers, Regional Chain Managers, Regional Account Coordinators and Call Center teams.
Maintains peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas.
Understands and communicates effective supply chain strategies in collaboration with core teams across all GFS distribution centers, transportation departments, as well as National Account and divisional logistics.
Performs other duties as required.
When you will work

Rotating schedule between Sunday - Thursday and Monday - Friday. Hours 7:30AM-4:30PM or 8AM-5PM.
Hybrid Work Schedule: 4 days in office, 1 day from home.
What you'll bring to the table:
High School Diploma/Equivalent required.
Two years full-time related work experience required.
Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of specific GFS Business Applications including Product Acquisition, Credit, Sales Support, Customer Acquisition, Non Stock, Invoice and Credit Memo Retrieval.

In the Identity Analyst department by:
Mapping Current State: Thoroughly reviewing and documenting the current permission assignment logic, identifying all dependencies. This will involve learning how to leverage our Identity Governance platform to perform this work.
Identifying Redundancies and Inefficiencies: Pinpointing any instances where permissions are unnecessarily granted, are overlapping, or contribute to an overly broad access footprint.
Ensuring Principle of Least Privilege: Designing and implementing a refined logic that adheres strictly to the principle of least privilege, ensuring users only have the minimum necessary access to perform their job functions.

Position Summary:
Oversees strategic marketing activity and support for key customers and internal teams in alignment with divisional goals and objectives. Manages customer-facing teams of marketing specialists in the areas of business solutions, culinary, and product, in an assigned region.
What you will do:
Drives relevant business, culinary, and product solutions to key customers through the activities of the customer marketing team(s).
Aligns strategies and activities to complement the initiatives of the Sales and Marketing teams, with the ultimate goal of increasing the overall market share of Gordon Food Service.
Supports the planning and execution of industry, sales and marketing events, divisional sales and marketing meetings, marketing campaigns, and food shows that align with the long-range plan and divisional goals.
Ensures consistent and relevant product, culinary, and business solution training for sales and specialist teams.
Determines and appropriately manages the budget and expenses of the customer support team in the assigned region.
Manages a team of divisional customer-facing specialist(s). May interview, hire, train, and retain staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department. Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them. Develops succession plans.
Performs other duties as assigned.
When you will work:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Hybrid Work Schedule: 4 days in office, 1 day from home.
What you will bring to the table:
High School Education required.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or related field preferred plus 5 years previous marketing and/or food service sales experience -or- 8 years previous marketing and/or food service sales experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Must maintain a valid, unrestricted state driver's license and safe driving record per GFS policy.
Excellent customer service, mentoring, interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be able to develop, refine, communicate, and implement plans and to set and define goals.
Must maintain knowledge of industry trends and be able to provide training on the technical aspects of commercial or non-commercial segments.

Position Summary:
The Full Stack Conversational Designer is a member of the Digital Product Team responsible for AI training, designing conversation flows, content creation for chatbot & voice experiences, and optimizing product discovery through internal site search. The role leverages large language models (LLMs) to craft engaging and effective interactions. This position works closely with the product management team to ensure that we are building the right things at the right time, understanding the market and both internal and external customer needs. The designer keeps quality at the forefront of the team's efforts and collaborates with people from business and technical backgrounds daily.
What you will do:
Execute along the entire design process from strategy to research to final UI, and when appropriate even code
Anticipate customer intent for both conversational prompts and internal search queries to ensure a smooth, positive, and efficient product discovery experience
Teach AI assistance NLU and communication skills to deliver a satisfying conversational experience
Turn data into understanding; using internal site search analytics and conversational insights to improve product taxonomy, search filtering, and conversational flows.

What you will bring to the table:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related field required
Leading SAFe (SA), SAFe for Teams (SP)or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (PO/PM) Conversational Design, Prompt Engineer Certification preferred
2+ years of business or systems analysis experience preferred
Conversational Design Certified preferred
Excellent listening and communication skills both written and verbal; comfortable speaking in front of large groups is a plus
Able to prioritize work by thinking holistically to consider customer and enterprise needs, not just team needs
Able to decompose complex features into user stories that can be completed in a few days
Able to tell a story and help the team demonstrate its results, even when the solution may not have a user interface
Able to negotiate with business and technical colleagues at several levels in the organization
Familiar with different interactions on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
Understanding of user centered design principles is a plus
