THE ROLE Gotham Greens is seeking a passionate, driven, and hardworking Plant Manager for our Monroe, Georgia Greenhouse Facility. This person will be a foundational early team member, contributing to the commissioning of our exciting vision for the Atlanta region. Gotham Greens is creating new ways to farm, produce local food, revitalize communities and innovate for a sustainable future. As we grow our company and our footprint. This is a hands-on visible position requiring direct oversight of labor-management, production process, packaging, receiving, and distribution. This role reports to the Director of Operations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Manages day-to-day operations of plant performance, product and packing quality, inventory control, cost, maintain budgets and KPI targets, productivity, distribution, maintenance, food, and employee safety.
* Ensures ongoing facility compliance with company quality, sanitation, and Food Safety standards.
* Implements and maintains standardized procedures and protocols for staff training and management, inventory distribution and logistics, sanitation, overall safety of the facility and its personnel, and compliance to the Food Safety Plan.
* Oversees Assistant Plant Manager, Greenhouse Supervisor, Pack House Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, and Production Assistants.
* Collaborates with the Growing team to operate a productive and cost-effective Greenhouse facility, organizes shift schedules with the Growing team, and coordinates purchasing.
* Partners with the Facilities team to identify structural and maintenance-related areas of concern arranges repairs and negotiates related costs. Ensures resolutions occur timely.
* Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives; develops and implements improved procedures and practices.
* Gives work direction, resolves problems, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of daily tasks
* Monitors and analyzes costs, prepare and/or maintain budgets, and has direct oversight of the Greenhouse P&L.
* Maintains and reviews quality reports/statistics to ensure consistent, quality finished goods.
* Communicates with Sales and Marketing to support continued company growth.
* Promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
* Mentors and develops staff using a supportive and collaborative approach; assign accountabilities; sets objectives; establish priorities; develops succession plans, and monitors and evaluates results.

Working conditions / Environment / Travel / Schedule required

The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, and monitor machines and equipment. They will ensure that product and packaging requirements are met safely, efficiently and with minimal waste. They will inspect harvesting or packaging line processes and materials and respond promptly to any machine malfunctions. They will be responsible for the start up and continuous operation of harvesting and packaging equipment while maintaining efficiencies and assist the department in meeting or exceeding daily production goals.
The Machine Operator will be expected to prepare seeding, harvesting and/or packaging machines prior to product run including cleaning, sanitizing, and adjusting as needed within the specified guidelines. You will be working in the Cooler (35F-40F), Greenhouse (75F-85F), and Headhouse (60F-90F) environments for part or all of your shift and will dress accordingly.

THE ROLE The Distribution Supervisor is a key member of the Gotham Greens Regional Operations Team and will be a critical founding member of our second Monroe, GA Greenhouse. The Distribution Supervisor will oversee receipt, picking, packing and shipping of inventory in our facility. This position will also ensure that all orders meet the Distribution standards for productivity, quality, timeliness and customer service. This is a hands-on role requiring an individual is a team player, one who is willing to roll up their sleeves, and isn't afraid to get dirty. WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Leads the Distribution team (pickers + packers + loaders) to ensure high level of service to customers. Ensures that staff works as a team. Participates in setting expectations and writing performance appraisals. Leads by example, communicates information and provides coaching and training on new procedures.
* Manages employee schedules, sick time and PTO, minimize OT, and professionally address employee concerns/complaints.
* Works with team performing material handling tasks in picking, packing, receiving, transferring and shipping areas.
* Responsible for proper FIFO rotation on the different products and keep records for proper traceability, provides daily cooler and freezer inventory (if applicable), checks additional inventory in off-site locations.
* Responsible for distribution or transfers of Growing Materials and packaging materials as needed.
* Ensure compliance with food safety protocols for the safe transport of finished product, including food safety logs, handling of product with proper temperature control and cleanliness of delivery vehicles. Also ensure the team follows food safety policies in all areas of the operations.
* Works with the team and manager to ensure that distribution productivity, quality and teamwork objectives are met.
* Ensures distribution equipment is in good condition and used as recommended by manufacturer.
* Ensures employees' safety in the P&P process
* Prioritizes work, follows the plan for daily work schedules, tracks and monitors shipping and packing slip documents.
* Communicates regularly with Plant Manager to review productivity and employee status/issues.
* Ensures a safe work environment for all employees.
* Performs other duties as assigned. Accomplishes related results as needed.

Specifically, you will:
Supervise greenhouse operations and ensure high performance

Ensure compliance on all food safety material, food safety best practices, as well as maintaining, monitoring, and verifying all food safety logs
Assist with the onboarding process of new hires, conducting reviews for associates, ensuring training of associates
Assist in planning and execution all aspects of the greenhouse management and provide labor and resources to assist as needed
Work closely with peers to develop good team working relationship and cross shift team relationships.
The ideal candidate:
Has 3-5 years' experience directly working in food production
Proficiency with computer operations and programs such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Access or other data tracking systems
Strong decision-making and troubleshooting skills and methods are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
A preference will be given to candidates from organizations in perishable food business with a value-added function, such as cutting fruits/vegetables, processing fruits/vegetables, re-packing, etc. But we will consider candidates from any light manufacturing or complex distribution operation. We also look for candidates with basic to medium expertise in growing system in a protected environment

Time will be divided between field and office related work. Minimal travel will be required.

THE ROLE:
As a Senior Technician with the Gotham Greens - Maintenance & Safety Team, you will be a key technical subject matter expert that ensures greenhouse equipment availability and the optimal integrity of all critical systems. You will be expected to rapidly troubleshoot equipment failures, provide root cause analysis, and quickly restore equipment into service. You will work closely with other Gotham Greens Maintenance Technicians on daily preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, vendor quality assessments, and associated projects. You will have an expert understanding of automated systems logic, conveyance, commercial electrical, plumbing, and HVACR. You will also be expected to provide professional guidance and mentorship to our junior technicians.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Maintain and troubleshoot all electrical/mechanical aspects of automated greenhouse equipment.
Repair conveyors, labelers, irrigation, fan systems, and associated critical infrastructure.
Repair or replace adjustable & wearable components. (belts, chains, cables, hoses, bearings, pulleys)
Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment within specifications.
Troubleshoot PLC programs, components, and communications modules. (Photo Eyes, Sensors, Limit Switches, Transducers)
Troubleshoot power distribution systems, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring up to 480V 3 Phase.
Provide support installing electrical drops, outlets, and lighting according to code.
Assess vendor completed projects for quality of work.

Utilize MMS system to proper track labor hours, procedures, PM/CMs, and associated inventory.
Follow appropriate safety procedures while maintaining equipment to include:
LOTO, Arc Flash, Confined Space, Fall Protection, and OSHA General Industry Standards.
Ensure a safe working environment by eliminating potential safety hazards.
Work occasionally at height with provided fall protection.
