She was responsible for the company’s overall strategic direction and the driving force behind VirtualEdge's commitment to product excellence and superior customer service until its very successful acquisition by Automated Data Processing Inc. (NYSE: ADP) in 2006. Ms. Smith started her career in Higher Education and Athletics, holding positions at Princeton and Towson Universities where she also coached the Division I Women's Basketball programs. No stranger to athletics herself, she was a 4-year All-American Field Hockey player, a two time Broderick Cup nominee and a member of the Women's Olympic Field Hockey Teams. Prior to gr8 People, Jack was the VP of Marketing at ADP where he managed the strategic marketing components of ADP’s talent management solution platform including talent acquisition, performance, succession, learning and compensation management. This included strategic plan development, new product launch, organizational readiness, development of sales tools, and alignment of operations.

Pat Amaral oversees all business development activites for Billtrust. Prior to this position, Pat was the Vice President of Client Services at Billtrust, ensuring that all Billtrust clients receive world-class service and support. He brings over 15 years of software and team leadership experience in client services and support, project management, development and training. Prior to joining Billtrust, Pat was Vice President Client Services at VirtualEdge, an ADP company. During his tenure there, VirtualEdge grew from a start-up company to a world-class provider of talent management software and was acquired by ADP (Nasdaq: ADP). Prior to that, Pat worked at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and Teach For America. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and economics from St. Lawrence University.

I am a financial executive with extensive experience with high growth fintech and SaaS companies backed by venture capital and private equity firms. Some of my recent accomplishments include closing exit sale to PE buyer and three acquisitions in a sixteen-month period.I have strategically partnered with CEOs, executive teams and investors to generate and support significant growth. I have provided leadership in many areas including accounting, finance, treasury management, human resources, legal, print/mail and facilities management. I am a certified public accountant and was named 2012 NJ Technology Council CFO of the Year and 2013 Philadelphia Business Journal CFO of the Year Finalist (Medium Company).
