Grace Bible College company history timeline
The regular day school program began in 1945.
undergraduate institution covering more than 15 acres (6 hectares) in Grand Rapids, Mich. It was founded in 1945 and is affiliated with the Grace Gospel Fellowship.
In 1961, the College relocated to suburban Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was renamed Grace Bible College.
In 1967, Doctor Jack T. Dean became President and led the College through a period of growth and expansion.
In 1970, after an almost five-year redesign of curriculum and programs, the Department of Education of the state of Michigan gave the school the right to confer a four-year bachelor’s degree.
Houston Theological Seminary received its certificate of incorporation from the State of Texas effective May 29, 2001.
The institution had its beginnings in early 2002 when a pastor and laypersons in the Houston area committed themselves to realize their vision of a local evangelical Christian institution emphasizing free grace.
The first students began classes in the fall of 2002.
After Texas enacted a state law prohibiting the use of the term “seminary” in an institution’s title without state approval, the name Houston Theological Seminary was changed to Grace School of Theology in a Certificate of Amend-ment issued by the State of Texas in March 2003.
The Jack T. Dean Academic Center was purchased and remodeled in 2005.
GIBU got her genesis from the Church of Grace International Ministry Inc. officially established on September 16, 2007 in Monrovia around the Paynesville Wein Town Community area.
In 2009, Doctor Kwanue who is now one of the founding members and National Coordinator of the Minnesota Church Ministry Association MCMA Liberia chapter was in communication with Bishop Doctor Timothy A. Johnson, USA to become General Overseer over the ministry and global vision.
In 2010, Grace began an online education program offering working adults an opportunity to study one night a week or exclusively online and earn an Associate or Bachelor Degree.
In January 2016, after accreditation approval by the HLC, the College began its graduate program with the first degree – a Masters in Ministry, and recently added another graduate degree in Organizational Leadership.
Bishop Doctor Frank was appointed as world president on August 12, 2017, when he recognized GIBU and gives affiliation from world of truth Bible Academy USA.
