Grace Christian University company history timeline

1945

The regular day school program began in 1945.

1961

In 1961 the college moved to a suburb of Grand Rapids (Wyoming, Michigan) and was renamed Grace Bible College.

1967

The Institution was founded under his leadership, grew to a College and navigated the challenges of moving the campus from Milwaukee to Grand Rapids, MI. The Institution continued to grow as Doctor Jack T. Dean became president in 1967.

Soon after the move to Grand Rapids, Grace achieved accreditation with the Association of American Bible Colleges (now the Association for Biblical Higher Education) in 1967.

2005

The Jack T. Dean Academic Center was purchased and remodeled in 2005.

2010

In 2010, Grace began an online education program offering working adults an opportunity to study one night a week or exclusively online and earn an Associate or Bachelor Degree.

2017

In 2017, the Board of Directors of the College unanimously voted to change the name of the College to Grace Christian University.

2018

In 2018, the institution changed its name to Grace Christian University to reflect its broader educational mission.

2019

2019/20 academic year (6 On-campus artifacts, 20 Online students): based on a 5-point scale: Context/ Purpose of Writing 2.68; Content Development 2.52;

2021

On May 18, 2021, the Student Affairs team completed an assessment with several students to gauge their satisfaction and consider adjustments to chapel programming to increase engagement in the coming year.
