The Role:
We're seeking a proactive and skilled engineer who thrives in a dynamic, fast‑paced, hands‑on environment and is ready to contribute directly to our hardware team, based here in the heart of San Francisco.
What You'll Do:
Contribute to the design, simulation, and optimization of complex electrical systems and circuits for cutting‑edge industrial and automotive LIDAR applications.
Drive component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout, ensuring optimal signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI performance, and manufacturability (DFM).
Hands‑On bring‑up and debugging of prototype hardware, efficiently identifying and resolving electrical issues.
Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, optical, and software engineering teams to ensure robust design and seamless system integration and performance.
Document and execute comprehensive engineering verification and validation (EVT) test plans that operate within design parameters and meet product requirements.
What You'll Bring (Basic Qualifications):
Bachelor of Science in ElectricalEngineering (BSEE) with 3+ years of experience, OR Master of Science in ElectricalEngineering (MSEE) with 1+ years of experience in relevant hardware product development (e.g., industrial, automotive, robotics, etc).
Understanding of hardware evaluation methodologies, including development of test cases/suites, performance monitoring, test automation, and data analysis.
Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and data systems.
Solid understanding and practical experience in high‑speed digital and analog circuit design, signal integrity, power delivery, and noise suppression techniques.
Proficiency with processor architectures, digital logic, and common communication interfaces (e.g., I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, Ethernet).
Experience driving the full design cycle: from schematic capture and PCB layout (Cadence, Altium, or similar) through to assembly and validation.
Bonus Points:
Experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with automotive qualification processes and standards (e.g., AEC-Q100/200).
Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for test automation.

The Senior Electrical Reliability Engineer is responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and reliability of electrical equipment and infrastructure at the Celanese Pensacola Plant. Responsibilities:
Primary Functions
Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines, operations, and mechanical personnel
Ensure safe, cost effective, operable electrical equipment and associated systems are provided and maintained to meet current business unit needs
Specify new electrical equipment to comply with industry and company design practices
Provide assistance in the field during plant start-ups, shutdowns or upsets as needed
Provide troubleshooting assistance for plant electrical installations
Provide quality control during maintenance outages for electrical equipment
Manage the development, updating, and implementation of equipment strategies for electrical equipment
Lead electrical infrastructure plan development and improvements
Drive electrical infrastructure improvement projects and steward recommendations to site management team
Provide technical support for front-end development, cost estimation, design, construction, and startup for projects, change packages, and turnarounds
Develop/review electrical contractor work scopes while incorporating site best practices and standards
Ensure all projects and repairs meet local codes and regulations i.e. IEEE, NFPA 70E, NEC etc.
Willing to be available outside of normal working hours to occasionally serve as technical consultant
Translate technical problems into business risk while communicating a case for action for mitigations or proposed solutions
Assists in the development of maintenance / operating procedures and technician training
Provide Root Cause Failure Analysis expertise and support as needed for equipment failures
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in ElectricalEngineering from an accredited university
At least 7 years of electricalengineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with IEEE, National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA standards
Experience with industrial plant electrical power distribution systems at 480V and 15kV levels
Experience with medium voltage and low voltage power circuit breakers and switchgear
Root Cause Failure Analysis training / experience
Experience with Management of Change (MOC) in a manufacturing environment

Vast offers an advanced engineeringinternship program with hands-on opportunities to design and build space hardware and software. You will play a crucial role in the development of the systems that will be required for the operation of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. Some examples of previous work include:
Participating in product design
Researching components and circuits
Working with senior engineers to revise existing designs based on customer feedback
Aiding in our manufacturing processes by troubleshooting electrical circuits that have failed during production
Solving problems in manufacturing by creating test fixtures to assist in assembly. This includes designing printed circuit boards, cable assemblies, and 3D printed parts to solve the problem at hand
Executing test plans
Contributing to CRLs growth by investigating and implementing new methods of prototyping
