The Whitefield Fellows Program gives guidance, training, and experience to college graduates considering teaching as a career. We will consider applicants from a broad range of biological subfields, as long as the candidate has experience with data analysis in the R programming language. The successful candidate will teach both "Foundations of Modern Biology I" (which includes a lab and covers topics in cellular and molecular biology, genetics, biodiversity, and evolution) and "Statistical Computing I" (an applied introduction to data analysis in R that does not require any formal computer science background to teach). The latter course is housed in the Quantitative Theory and Methods (QTM) department. The teaching load for this position will be the equivalent of one lecture and two lab sections (Biology) in the fall and up to three lecture sections (QTM) in the spring. Structured support and mentoring will be provided for both courses by senior members of the departments.
