Physical Abilities and Working Conditions:
* Vision: Can read small print and view a computer screen for prolonged periods.
* Hearing: Ability to tolerate exposure to noisy conditions.
* Speech: Ability to be understood in face-to-face communications, to speak with a level of proficiency and volume to be understood over a telephone or computer.
* Upper Body Mobility: Ability to use hands to grasp and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist, and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head.
* Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects that weigh as much as 25 or more pounds frequently. Paraprofessionals may be required to restrain parties involved in a conflict physically.
* Physical Demands: The ability to sit for long periods (at a desk and on the floor), kneel, bend at the waist, run, and walk.
* Physical Stamina: The capacity to perform a range of support responsibilities including, but not limited to, transferring and lifting, feeding, and cleaning for all areas of health, function, and hygiene with students who have significant needs in those areas.
* Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors.
Working Conditions: This position is 9:00 AM - 3:15 PM and will follow the school calendar.
Salary/Benefits:
* $21.52 per hour
* After a probation period, the position includes sick days, personal leave, and paid holidays. There are no medical benefits.
