Job Summary
The GraduateAssistant will provide educationally beneficial assistance to the Office of the Provost.
As a GraduateAssistant in the Office of the Provost, the student in this position will be the first point of contact for visitors, deliveries, and must positively portray a professional demeanor. The GraduateAssistant will provide executive level administrative support to the Office of the Provost, respond to a wide variety of situations in a timely manner, and represent the office in the highest professional manner.
Copies and distributes correspondence (both on paper and via electronic means) including requests requiring the provost's authorization. Works with the Office of the Provost support team to maintain a large complex record filing system. Accurately files documents for future retrieval. Responsible for ensuring the integrity of all associated records.

Maintain academic good standing. If a student's grade point average falls below a 3.00 (academic warning), the student will have next semester or summer term to improve and return to good standing before termination of the assistantship. Should a student fail to return to good standing after the next semester or summer term, or should a student receive academic exclusion and be dismissed from the degree program, the assistantship will be terminated at once.
This position will work in-person 19 hours per week.
' Full assistantships (19 hours/week) cover all but $25 of tuition.
' Applicable student fees are not covered by the assistantship.
Course loads for graduateassistants must be at least 6 graduate semester hours.

The Sport and Recreation Leadership master's degree program invites applications for a 20 hour/week graduateassistantship working with Rockingham County Parks and Recreation for academic year 2026-2027. The primary focus of this position will be to assist in the planning and implementation of a wide variety of recreational opportunities for the residents of Rockingham County. The ability to organize activities and events and communicate effectively with coworkers as well as patrons will be essential. Graduateassistantships include enrollment in the Sport and Recreation graduate program (Sport & Recreation concentration, preferred) and involve 20 hours of work per week at Rockingham County Parks and Recreation during the academic school year. Graduateassistants will begin work prior to the start of the school year and the position continues through the end of the academic year. The position includes a stipend and a tuition waiver.
Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the South College School of Pharmacy, Knoxville, Tennessee, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month continuing faculty appointment available for immediate start. While South College does not follow a tenure model, faculty enjoy opportunities for academic rank promotion and merit-based annual salary advancement. The individual in this position will be primarily responsible for teaching PharmD students in our 3-year, accelerated pharmacy program but will also be expected to contribute to new knowledge through scholarship and provide service to the School of Pharmacy, South College, and the greater Knoxville community. James Madison University Recreation (UREC) is now accepting applications for a GA for Academic Year 2026-2027 for Fitness and Group Exercise from candidates planning to pursue a career and advanced degree in campus recreation.
The mission of UREC is to promote and advance healthy lifestyles through educational programs, participation opportunities and supportive services. UREC's qualified staff is committed to excellence and responsive to the developmental needs of their participants.
Graduateassistantships include enrollment in the Sport and Recreation graduate program (Campus Recreation concentration) and involve 20 hours of work per week at UREC during the academic school year. Graduateassistants will begin work prior to the start of the school year and the position continues through the end of the academic year.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The GraduateAssistant for Fitness & Group Exercise will take on a leadership role in the Fitness, Group Exercise and Nutrition program areas. Responsibilities will include supervision of student employees, staff training and continuing education, management of fitness & group exercise activity spaces as well as the Demonstration Kitchen, and general program design and administration.
Facility supervision and operational responsibilities for the University Recreation Center and satellite facilities on a rotating weekend basis. Attends and actively participates in all required departmental and divisional meetings, retreats and trainings. Attends and participates in meetings, committees and trainings related to the UREC GA role.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in related field.
Certification in Personal Training and/or Group Exercise (from a nationally-recognized organization) preferred.
Preference will be given to those with formal acceptance into the Sport and Recreation Leadership graduate program, Campus Recreation Concentration.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the South College School of Pharmacy, Knoxville, Tennessee, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month continuing faculty appointment available for immediate start. While South College does not follow a tenure model, faculty enjoy opportunities for academic rank promotion and merit-based annual salary advancement. The individual in this position will be primarily responsible for teaching PharmD students in our 3-year, accelerated pharmacy program but will also be expected to contribute to new knowledge through scholarship and provide service to the School of Pharmacy, South College, and the greater Knoxville community. Academic rank (Asst./Assoc./Prof.) of the successful candidates will be commensurate with experience.
Applicants with areas of expertise/interest within the broad discipline of pharmaceutical sciences are welcome to apply. Responsibilities
Develops, coordinates, and teaches content within the School of Pharmacy as appointed by the Department Chair to on-ground and online/hybrid students.
Contributes to two required laboratory courses that support the integration of pharmaceutics, compounding, and pharmaceutical calculations across both on-ground and online/hybrid student pathways.
Assists in the design, coordination, and delivery of immersion laboratory experiences for the online/hybrid cohort, ensuring alignment with course outcomes and professional competencies.
Develops and offers an elective course that corresponds with expertise area(s) as needed.
Uses the School of Pharmacy's platforms for teaching and assessments, such as Canvas, ExamSoft , and other platforms.
Provides mentorship and advisement for students in the School of Pharmacy as appointed by the Dean's Office and Department Chair.
Communicates teaching and scholarship activities through frequent and effective communication with the Department Chair.
Contributes to new knowledge through scholarship and research.
Integrates and enhances collaborations among the clinical sciences and basic sciences in areas of research/scholarship, teaching, and service.
Advances the service missions of the School of Pharmacy and South College.
Acts as an authoritative representative and advocate for the Department, the School of Pharmacy, and the College.
Actively participates in committees within the Department, School of Pharmacy, and College, as appointed by the Department Chair, and participates in professional organizations.
Operates within South College and School of Pharmacy policies.

Education
