Job Summary The Graduate Assistant for Assessment will work with various areas of the department to provide assessment of activities, programs and services. Through data collection, analysis and reporting, information will be provided to staff and departments in Student Union, Inc. area to drive improvements in our various operations. This position will also aid in assessing learning outcome sand experiences provided for SU student employees. The level of analysis for this role does not rise to the level of scientific or research-based scrutiny but provides solid data and results which can be interpreted accurately. Essential Functions and Tasks In conjunction with direction from department and area leadership, conduct assessments (qualitative and quantitative) of Student Union Inc. programs, operations and services. Create a regular calendar of assessments for the department; work with department leaders on timing, methodology, and incentives for assessment. Compile and analyze data against benchmarks, trends, historical data. Create analysis and results in user-friendly formats for utilization and decision-making. Work with Student Affairs in aligning Student Union, Inc. assessments with division goals and directives. Participate in department staff meetings, organization-wide trainings and development activities. Perform additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Experience in computer applications such as: Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to be organized, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of program policies and procedures and ability to manage situations which require resolution and problem solving. Experience with assessment methods, analysis, data collection, interpretation, and results. Minimum Qualifications and Specifications Must be a matriculated SJSU graduate student and continuously enrolled at least half-time during the academic term.     SAN FRANCISCO FILM SCHOOL TEACHING ASSISTANT (TA), FILMMAKING AND CREATIVE MEDIA Term: Begins January 12, 2026 Commitment: Minimum 6 hours per week Modality: Hybrid (online and on-campus) Institution: San Francisco Film School San Francisco Film School (SFFS) is looking for qualified Teaching Assistants (TAs) to support filmmaking and creative media courses during the Spring 2026 semester and beyond. This role is ideal for early-career professionals or practitioners interested in teaching, mentoring students, and supporting hands-on, production-based learning environments. Position Summary Teaching Assistants assist students and instructors in hybrid courses that combine online learning with on-campus, hands-on production activities. TAs play an essential role in facilitating learning, offering technical and academic support, and ensuring smooth course operations. This is a part-time, non-faculty instructional support position. Essential duties and responsibilities Facilitate small-group discussions, workshops, or lab activities during scheduled class sessions. Provide technical assistance with filmmaking equipment, software, and course materials. Offer tutoring or student support during designated office hours or scheduled support times. Assist with administrative and instructional tasks, including distributing materials and preparing classrooms or production spaces. Provide feedback on draft assignments or practice exercises. Support student productions on campus as needed. Coordinate with instructors and school administration regarding attendance tracking and basic grading support. Attend required meetings, including faculty or instructional support meetings. Schedule and modality expectations TAs must be available for both online and on-campus classes, depending on course needs. On-campus presence is required for classes and productions scheduled at the San Francisco campus. Weekly hours vary by course, but each requires a minimum commitment of 6 hours per week. Minimum qualifications Professional experience in filmmaking or a closely related creative media field. Strong working knowledge of professional filmmaking workflows, tools, and equipment. Ability to support students in a collaborative, production-focused learning environment. Reliable communication skills and professional conduct when working with students, faculty, and staff. Preferred qualifications Bachelor's degree in Film, Filmmaking, Creative Media, or a closely related field. Prior teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or instructional support experience. Demonstrated ability to explain technical concepts clearly to students with varying levels of experience. A portfolio or reel demonstrating professional-quality work.
