Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno's Graduate School is recruiting a GraduateAssistant (GA) to support the office's operations, programs, and research activities. This 20 hour per week position will work closely with the Director of Operations, and other key office personnel, to provide broad administrative support to staff and leadership, assist with office projects and events, and contribute to research and data focused initiatives.
Responsibilities
Office Administration
Provide coverage for the front desk and phones, including during busy periods or when other staff are unavailable.
Collaborate with staff on daily tasks related to the admissions and progression of graduate students.
Respond to emails and phone calls, providing timely and accurate information.
Review and process official letters and documents for students (e.g., recommendation letters, exception requests).
Research and Data Initiatives
Assist Director of Operations with data cleaning, analysis, and reporting.
Support leadership with ongoing research activities, including project management, data collection, data analysis, generating tables/charts, and summarizing findings.
Help maintain databases and spreadsheets to track key metrics.
Prepare materials for presentations, reports, and grant submissions as needed.
Prepare and update research-related documents, such as consent forms and recruitment materials, and coordinate with research teams for timely submission.
Project and Event Support
Assist office staff with the planning, coordination, and execution of Graduate School events, recruitment tabling, and workshops.
Collaborate with office staff to create flyers, handouts, and digital assets related to events and programs.
Assist with post-event evaluation by collecting feedback, compiling results, and summarizing recommendations for improvement.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must be admitted to a degree-granting program and be in good academic standing
Candidate must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and be continuously enrolled in at least 6 graduate-level credits (600-700) throughout the duration of the assistantship

Job Description
The Desert Research Institute (DRI; ************ in Reno, Nevada, in partnership with the Graduate Program at the University of Nevada Reno (UNR), are actively recruiting a highly motivated PhD. student to work on a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded research project in the areas of light scattering, aerosol optical property characterization, and advanced instrumentation development. The selected candidate will join a dynamic interdisciplinary team based at the Desert Research Institute (DRI) in Reno, Nevada, and will be formally enrolled in the Department of Physics, an Engineering Department, or any other Department at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR).
Research Focus
The project will involve experimental (mostly) and theoretical and computational work with a focus on:
Aerosol optical characterization using advanced angularly resolved light scattering measurements using static, dynamic, and holography-based systems.
Development and enhancement of aerosol optical instrumentation, including multi-wavelength nephelometers, PM monitoring sensors, and lidar-based remote sensing tools.
Laboratory generation and optical characterization of bioaerosols (e.g., pollen, spores), mineral dust aerosols, and other particles relevant to defense system and atmospheric optics.
Data acquisition, signal processing, and integration with real-time particle sizing instruments.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in physics, computer engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to the Department of Physics, an Engineering Department, or any other Department at the University of Nevada, Reno. The student must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and must be continuously enrolled in at least 6 graduate level credits throughout the duration of the assistantship.
Demonstrate experience is desired in: Hands-on experience with laser-based experiments, optical instrumentation, and aerosol sampling systems is considered a plus. Electronic systems, signal acquisition, microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi), circuit design, and optical sensor integration. Programming (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB).

Compensation/Benefits
DRI offers a competitive support package, which includes a half-time (50% FTE) minimum monthly salary of $2250 for PhD students during the academic semester with the opportunity to work up to full-time during the summer.
Graduate student health insurance is fully covered by DRI. The grant-in-aid tuition waiver covers 100% of tuition/per credit costs for up to 12 credits and waives non-resident tuition rates. Grant-in-aid does not cover other fees or books. This assistantship entails 20 hours a week during the academic year and has the potential for full time during the summer.

Job Summary
We are seeking energetic, responsible graduate level interns to join ASM Global in the following departments: Marketing, Sales, Human Resources and Community, Technical Operations, and Sports and Live Events. Job Description
The CBESS Grant at the University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Spanish-English bilingual GraduateAssistant for the spring 2026 semester (through 1/30/28). Student will be working 10-20 hours a week (dependent on contract) on a STEM project titled Community of Bilingual English Spanish Speakers- Exploring issues in Science and Health (CBESS) funded by The National Institutes of Health (NIH). This Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) aims to increase the number of linguistically diverse Northern Nevada K-12 high school students pursuing careers in STEM-healthcare contexts.
A highly motivated graduate student will assist with contacting CBESS students and their parents via email, telephone, and/or text to engage in interviews about the CBESS program, along with conducting school visits with the program coordinator to recruit participants. The individual will support the coordinator in updating recruitment materials, participant data tracking, and program implementation of events. As appropriate, the individual will complete ethical research training and help conduct semi-structured interviews with parents of CBESS students whose preferred language is Spanish and translate research instruments and data between Spanish and English. This position will be housed in the Latino Research Center and is a partnership between the center and the School of Medicine. On occasion, the GA may be asked to conduct some work-related activities (i.e., contacting students and parents, hosting events) in the evening and on weekends from home.

Support the program coordinator with program implementation, such as event bookings, agendas, and event purchases for hosting and supplies/materials
Lead marketing and communications by updating materials, communicating with stakeholders, and posting on social media, as guided by the program coordinator
