TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Typical activities of GraduateAssistants may include: (1) assisting in the instruction of students by conducting small discussion groups related to large lecture, supervising laboratory periods, workshops, or other course activities, assisting by handling equipment, performing demonstrations, maintaining office hours to provide direct individual contact between student and graduateassistant, clarifying course material or course content for students; (2) providing assistance to faculty conducting authorized research by collecting and arranging data, developing source materials, summarizing reports, searching the literature and compiling bibliographies, developing and operating research equipment, preparing and caring for research materials, assisting in the conduct of experiments, etc.; and/or (3) generally assisting faculty in evaluating student work and examinations; preparing course materials and aids, or performing other functions requiring knowledge and background beyond that generally possessed by undergraduate assistants.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and Abilities
: Knowledge of the subject matter of the discipline in which assigned. Ability to relate well to others within the academic environment; ability to supervise, assist, and train students; and ability to assist faculty in the conduct of special projects/research within the discipline.
Experience
: For the initial appointment, evidence of satisfactory achievement in previous academic work. For subsequent appointment, evidence of satisfactory progress toward completion of the degree.
Education
: Equivalent to completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree and registration in a CSU graduate degree program. Students enrolled in credential programs are not eligible for this position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
BA Degree in hand by time of appointment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued. Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred and should be noted in application.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Psychology is one of the largest departments at CSUSB, with 26 full-time and 26 part-time faculty, approximately 100 graduate students, and 1400 undergraduate students. The department offers one undergraduate major in Psychology with three formal concentrations - General Psychology, Biological Psychology and Industrial-Organizational Psychology. In addition, the department houses three master's programs: Clinical/Counseling Psychology, Psychological Science, and Industrial-Organizational Psychology. We offer the entire undergraduate major at both the San Bernardino and Palm Desert campuses.

Conduct small group language and writing conferences with writers working on group projects both in person and online via Zoom. Conduct in-class and Writing Center/English Language Support Center-hosted writing workshops on a variety of topics.
Participate in collaborative mentoring, writing, and professional development activities including reading and discussing scholarship in the area of language support and learning.
Conduct observations of other consultants' conferences and provide them with mentoring, and feedback, particularly in the area of language support, in addition to submitting reflective feedback to the Director regarding their own and others' conferences.
Maintain accurate records of activities and submit required data and timekeeping records in a timely fashion.
