Auto-ApplyLegal Fellow, Pro Bono Initiatives
Remote graduate fellow job
Founded in 2017, the Lawyering Project is a legal advocacy organization that blends traditional impact litigation with movement lawyering to promote reproductive health, rights, and justice throughout the United States.
Laws that undermine reproductive health, rights, and justice deprive people of moral agency, rob us of control over our bodies, and compound other forms of oppression like racism, sexism, and poverty. Our mission is to eliminate these laws and the harmful impacts they have on people's lives. We are especially focused on laws that limit the availability or affordability of abortion care; contribute to disparities in reproductive health outcomes; embody gender-based stereotypes; or discriminate against people based on their reproductive decisions.
We envision a society with laws that enable each of us to make decisions about intensely personal matters like sex, pregnancy, family, and healthcare based on our own beliefs and values, and ensure that we all have access to safe pregnancy care, safe abortion care, and safe communities for our families.
The Lawyering Project has three legal programs: Litigation, Access & Innovation, and Pro Bono Initiatives. Our Litigation Program leverages the courts to eliminate barriers to reproductive health services and promote equity in access to care. Our Access & Innovation Program provides legal advice and technical assistance to healthcare providers, researchers, abortion funds, and others who make access to vital healthcare possible. Our Pro Bono Initiatives Program cultivates strategic relationships with members of the private bar and legal academy and operates the Abortion Defense Network, a collaborative effort by nonprofit organizations, private law firms, and government officials aimed at ensuring everyone threatened with liability for providing or supporting abortion care in post-Roe America has access to high-quality, values-aligned lawyers. For further information, visit **************************** and ***********************************
In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, which overturned nearly fifty years of precedent recognizing abortion access as a fundamental right, the Lawyering Project is committed to supporting all people seeking to obtain, provide, or support abortion care while navigating new obstacles and legal risks. We have seized on this disruption of precedent as an opportunity to reshape reproductive rights jurisprudence, situating it on a stronger and more progressive foundation. And we will continue to work closely with our partners in the reproductive health, rights, and justice movement-and allied movements-to realize our vision for a more just and equitable future.
The Lawyering Project is a non-profit organization that qualifies for tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We have an all-remote staff with approximately two dozen full-time employees who may be based anywhere in the United States. Our annual operating budget is around $6 million.

* Architect and manage scalable solutions across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure
* Lead design and deployment of large language model (LLM) services and agentic capabilities, leveraging protocols such as A2A and MCP
* Architect and enforce agentic identity and access controls using role-based, attribute-based, and Zero Trust models

* Evaluate, integrate, and customize third-party agentic solutions from across the wider technology landscape (Microsoft, Amazon, OpenAI, Workday, SAP, ServiceNow, etc.) to accelerate AI-driven workflows
* Drive rigorous build-vs-buy analyses for agentic implementations, recommending when to leverage partner ecosystem solutions
* Design and implement AI solutions requiring multi-agent orchestration, ensuring agents communicate, collaborate, and escalate appropriately
* Partner with AI Champions, Evangelists, Developers, Enterprise, Cloud, and Security Engineers to help prioritize, prototype, iterate, and productionize secure AI solutions
* Assist in aligning or creating business and technical processes-data flows, governance, change management-to unlock and scale AI opportunities
* Collaborate closely with Data Architecture and Systems Data Owners to ensure tight integration, strong data governance, lineage, and quality in AI workflows
* Operate independently as a balanced representative of both technical engineering and business partner teams, influencing stakeholders through the value of proposed solutions rather than positional authority
* Imagine the art of the possible-think creatively to envision bold AI innovations and translate those visions into enterprise-class, production-ready solutions
* Define and track metrics for success, including solution cost-effectiveness, security posture, scalability, and business partner satisfaction
* Present architectural blueprints, risk assessments, and ROI analyses to senior leadership, tailoring communications for technical and non-technical audiences

* Lead with humility: listen actively, give credit, and learn from both successes and setbacks

* Imagine what's possible, challenging conventions to unlock novel solutions that delight stakeholders
* Own outcomes end-to-end, balancing speed with quality, security, and compliance
* Communicate transparently and succinctly, ensuring alignment at every level of the organization
Here's What You'll Need (Basic Qualifications)
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or related field

* Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
* Experience designing and implementing AI security defenses against adversarial and data integrity threats
* Proven ability to collaborate with Data Architecture teams and Systems Data Owners on governance, metadata, and integration

About SkillBridge
The DOD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service (or as DOD determines). DOD SkillBridge connects transitioning service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences.
For service members, DOD SkillBridge provides an invaluable chance to work and learn in civilian, private-sector career areas. For industry partners, DOD SkillBridge is an opportunity to access and leverage the world's most highly trained and motivated workforce at no direct cost. Service members participating in DOD SkillBridge programs continue receiving their military compensation and benefits, while industry partners provide industry exposure, civilian training, and work experience.
Installation and unit commanders who have members about to transition from active duty, bridge the gap between their service members' end of service and the beginning of their civilian careers with the DOD SkillBridge participation. Every employee will develop quarterly goals and metrics in order to transparently communicate, and objectively measure one's own performance.
Everyone on the Team needs to be very comfortable with constant change, moving fast, sharing failures, embracing grit, and building things themselves. Most startups fail and no one will come to save us.

(Formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America)
For more than 55 years, Reproductive Freedom for All and its chapters have fought to protect and expand reproductive freedom -including access to abortion and contraception - for everybody. We are powered by our more than 4 million members from every state and congressional district in the country, representing the 8 in 10 Americans who believe every person should have the freedom to make the best decision for themselves about if, when, and how to raise a family.
Reproductive Freedom for All centers diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in our organization and our work. Continuously learning from our history, we hold ourselves accountable to achieve reproductive freedom with equitable access for everybody. As the oldest and largest national membership organization primarily focused on advocating for abortion access, we organize and mobilize, galvanizing millions of people to take action to defend reproductive freedom, and shining a spotlight of accountability on bad actors who work to impose their ideological agenda on others. We also work to elect champions for reproductive freedom and advance state and federal legislation to safeguard it. For more information on Reproductive Freedom for All, please visit our website.
