Intern Position Summary
The Meeting Services Intern will work with the Meeting Services Department, which is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing CSBS meetings, conferences, and training throughout the year. The intern will provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, assist with future event planning, and gain hands-on experience with budgeting, reconciliation, and event technology. This internship offers exposure to the full lifecycle of event planning within a national nonprofit organization.
Essential Functions
Provide administrative support for meetings and events, including tracking details, preparing documentation, and assisting with logistics.
Assist with planning activities for 2026 and 2027 CSBS events, including research, timelines, and coordination support.
Research and scout dinner locations for Fall 2026 meetings, preparing summaries and recommendations for team review.
Create and update printed and digital meeting materials, such as agendas, signage, and attendee communications.
Gain hands-on experience using Cvent, CSBS's event management software, including registration and reporting support.
Support event budgeting and post-event reconciliation, including expense tracking and organizing financial documentation.
Develop an overall understanding of how meetings and events support CSBS's mission and operations.
Additional Information
There may be an opportunity to travel to a CSBS meeting and provide onsite support.
Education and Experience
Currently pursuing a degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
Demonstrated interest or prior experience in meeting planning, event coordination, or nonprofit operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience with event technology platforms (such as Cvent) is a plus.
Requirements
Due to the nature of CSBS's business in support of state financial services supervision, all CSBS employees have the potential of interacting with confidential information related to the supervision of financial services companies ("Confidential Supervisory Information"). The Office of the Korea Chair is devoted to building an active policy research program in Washington, DC on the Korean peninsula. The CSIS Korea Chair conducts independent policy research on issues critical to the United States, the Republic of Korea, and Asia more broadly; convenes public and private sector stakeholders in Washington and Seoul; and advances a greater understanding of Korean policy issues to policymakers and the public at large. Korea Chair interns gain experience in the areas of professional writing development, policy-research, data collection, and event planning. Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will support reproductive rights and health internal and external-facing policy and litigation work, which can include:
* Providing legal and factual research and analysis;
* Tracking state and federal legislation and litigation on core and emerging issues;
* Cite checking and bluebooking documents;
* Drafting memos, talking points, testimony, blogs, factsheets, and other written materials;
* Support the preparation of briefs, pleadings, legislative toolkits, and comments on proposed federal agency regulations;
* Participating in coalition meetings, policy briefings, and events; and
* Attending executive and congressional proceedings.
Qualifications:
* Current enrollment in a JD program and ability to receive academic credit for the internship/externship;
* Strong research and writing skills, including excellent analytical, oral, and written communications skills;
* Experience working on gender justice issues with an intersectional lens;
* Experience or interest in an, advocacy, litigation, policymaking, or research environment;

Key Relations
The intern will report to a Senior Counsel on the RRH team as primary supervisor, but will receive assignments from various members of the RRH team.
Compensation & Benefits
This internship is unpaid, but the Center will work with the intern to secure academic credit. A stipend of $175 per month, prorated, will be provided if allowed by the student's school. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Classification
This position is not included in the union-represented bargaining unit, NWLC United, affiliated with the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union/IFPTE Local 70.

The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory or visual fashion is essential. Client Counseling and Support:

Our program is dedicated to contributing to your practice-readiness and to help you hit the ground running after graduation.
Our program structure:
Our externships are flexible-they can range from two to eight weeks during the year, according to your college curriculum - but are typically two or three weeks in length. Your schedule will include days, evenings and weekends.
Our externship rotations are designed to allow students, under veterinary supervision, to practice the problem-solving, technical and communication skills that they have acquired during their clinical preparation. Externs are given the opportunity to work alongside our veterinary team and are encouraged to participate in all aspects of patient care. A stipend of $250 per week will be provided.
What you'll be doing:
Externs experience the typical caseload of a small animal practice. Under the supervision of your mentor doctor you will gather histories, perform physical examinations, develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans, scrub in to surgery, assist in the management of medical cases, provide wellness care, develop your client communication skills, polish your technical skills and produce appropriate medical records (SOAPs) within the time limits of daily practice.
