This part-time Land Intern role is a great opportunity for a local college student currently studying real estate development, infrastructure, or public-sector projects. The Land Intern will support projects and activities related to identifying, evaluating, and securing real property interests for development in California and Nevada. This internship provides hands-on exposure to real estate transactions, feasibility studies, due diligence, entitlement processes, and coordination with landowners, agencies, and internal teams. As part of the professional veterinary curriculum, colleges encourage off-campus educational experiences in practices outside of the teaching hospital. Practical experience in a well-run and contemporary practice can be a valuable component of your veterinary education, preparing you to deliver better care after graduation. Our program is dedicated to contributing to your practice-readiness and to help you hit the ground running after graduation. Our program structure: Our externships are flexible-they can range from two to eight weeks during the year, according to your college curriculum - but are typically two or three weeks in length. This classification is used for temporary appointment to provide job training for regularly enrolled students. Duties will vary widely based on the training assignment and department program needs. The Intern is a single class position, fully competent to perform a variety of support and project oriented tasks and duties. The Student Intern performs a variety of project assignments and general office work typical of an intern/trainee position; may be assigned to any one of the City's operating departments. * Participates in supervised training program. * Assists in gathering, compiling, and analyzing data. * May perform simple technical, clerical, or paraprofessional work. * May assist in developing programs and presenting reports. * Operates program-related equipment. * Depending on assignment, may operate a standard vehicle to travel to multiple locations in order to perform assigned tasks; transporting equipment as needed, and performing assigned tasks at each worksite. * Makes oral and written reports. Experience: Although not required, work experience applicable to the internship position being sought or in city government, public administration and/or general office practices is desirable. License: Some positions involve driving and may require a current driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Work Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
