    CLASS TITLE: STUDENT INTERN II DEFINITION: Under the general direction of the classified or certificated person in charge, to support and lead student programming, usually as part of work-based learning and enrichment activities provided by the district; and perform related work as required. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Instructs and leads peers and supports programming to ensure successful work-based learning outcomes. Develops Work-Based Learning Competencies and Work Readiness Skills. Expand understanding and experience of career pathways. Works collaboratively with intern placement colleagues and stakeholders. Fulfills intern responsibilities as assigned. Provides youth voice to develop programming across the district. Attend meetings and professional development opportunities. Leads training and serves as a peer leader to support work-based learning activities. Reports to the classified or certificated person in charge of progress and challenges. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Training and Experience: An equivalence to two years of experience working with others and preferred participation in a work-based learning activity. (e.g. job shadowing, volunteer work, informational interview, on-the-job training, work-based learning continuum). Demonstrates leadership abilities and if currently a student has at least a 2.5 GPA. Knowledge of: Content and subject matter of internship placement(s) and work-based learning opportunity One year experience in a leadership role. Use of technology to support interns and internship placements. Ability to: Get to and from their internship site. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, peers, and administration. Communicate effectively with others. Take initiative and problem-solve.
