Duties Include:
* Research Design and Implementation
* Designing Research Studies: Develop detailed research protocols and experimental designs focused on aging, cognitive health, and wellness. Ensure that methodologies are scientifically rigorous and appropriate for the research questions and include detailed recruitment, analytic & results dissemination plans.
* Conducting Research: Carry out protocols, experiments, surveys, and assessments according to the designed protocols. This includes recruiting participants, conducting assessments, staff training, and ensuring the collection of high-quality data.
* Data Management: Support the development and maintenance of databases for research data and/or the development and integration of data collection tools. Ensure data is stored securely and is accessible for analysis.
* Data Collection and Analysis: Oversee the collection of research data, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Use statistical and data analysis software to perform complex analyses. Appropriately apply quantitative and qualitative methods to interpret data trends, correlations, and patterns. Produce actionable insights, draw meaningful conclusions and develop recommendations based on data analysis.
* Reporting Results: Prepare visualizations, summary reports, journal publications and presentations to communicate findings effectively. Share results with the research team and external stakeholders to advance the field.
* Conducting Literature Reviews: Regularly review current literature related to aging, cognitive health, and wellness. Summarize and synthesize findings to inform ongoing and future research projects.
* Integrating New Knowledge: Apply insights from recent research to refine hypotheses, adjust methodologies, and enhance the relevance of research projects. Stay informed about emerging trends and technological advancements.
* Outreach and Networking
* Community Engagement: Participate in the development and implementation of community outreach activities to promote research and foster public understanding of aging and wellness topics.
* Professional Networking & Stakeholder Engagement: Help organize and/or attend professional meetings, networking and stakeholder events to build relationships with research stakeholders including academic, industry, clinical, and community partners to facilitate research and translate/intergrate research into real-world settings.
* Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including other researchers, clinicians, and specialists. Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies.
* Scientific Communication: Prepare and deliver presentations of research findings at conferences, workshops, and meetings. Contribute to writing and revising peer-reviewed publications and grant proposals.
* Provide Service to the University and Profession: participate in department, university, and professional organizations at the local and national level.

* Project Assistance: Contribute to special projects or initiatives that arise within the research center, which may include administrative or operational tasks outside of primary research responsibilities.
* Grant Writing and Funding
* Proposal Development: Assist in drafting grant proposals, including writing sections related to research aims, methodology, and expected outcomes. Collaborate with team members to develop comprehensive and competitive proposals for a wide variety of funders including government, industry and non-profit groups.
* Funding Acquisition: Help identify potential funding sources and opportunities. Contribute to the development of project budgets and funding requests.
* Training and Supervision
* Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to junior researchers, students, interns, or lab assistants. Assist with training new team members and learners in areas of expertise and/or on research protocols and techniques.
* Supervision: Oversee day-to-day activities of support staff or students involved in research projects, ensuring tasks are completed effectively.
* Ethical and Regulatory Compliance
* Compliance Monitoring: Participate in developing and executing compliance monitoring plans. Provide oversight to ensure that all research activities adhere to institutional, ethical, and regulatory guidelines. Obtain necessary approvals from ethics review boards and regulatory bodies.

Minimum Requirements:
Specific requirements for the positions include: (1) an earned doctorate in a socio-behavioral, bio-informatics and/or health related field, and (2) a minimum of 4 years of research experience specifically focused in an area related to AI and technology, cognition, patient-centered engagement, and/or nutrition and wellness.

The OPS ResearchAssistants will monitor and oversee operation of the HVS. They will also complete various research projects under the mentoring of UNF and FDOT engineer's researcher will support the overall project effort by completing routine tasks such as initial data evaluation and support developing presentation material.
This part-time position assists with engineering research in support of the Accelerated Pavement Testing program (APT) on-site at the Florida Department of Transportation State Materials Office (SMO) in Gainesville, Florida. Researchassistants will operate and maintain research machinery, collect and analyze research data, and assist with hands-on research tasks.
The APT uses two Heavy Vehicle Simulators (HVS) to simulate traffic loading on pavement test sections. Using a combination of electric drive and hydraulics, the HVS can apply up to a 32,000 lb load for up to 12,000 tire passes per day on a test section. This simulated load is used to test pavement designs and placement methods.
Using vendor-supplied software as well as software developed in-house, on-board data acquisition systems collect real-time data including tire load, test speed, temperatures, hydraulic pressures as well as voltage and current data. Additionally, pavement deformation and cracking information are recorded by automated methods.
The APT ResearchAssistant will support the APT effort by performing job duties which include the following:
1. Operate and monitor the HVS equipment during testing; log any malfunctions or errors as well as report malfunctions or errors to the operations supervisor.
2. Safely perform required maintenance tasks as directed (after appropriate training).
3. Assist in data analysis using computer software.
Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma with relevant research/engineering work experience. Basic computer skills are required. LabVIEW experience is a plus. Engineering students are encouraged to apply.

Oversees the daily activities of the Department's Accelerated Pavement Testing (APT) and statewide experimental performance monitoring programs, including the US 301 test roads and Heavy Vehicle Simulator (HVS) test track projects. Develops, prepares, and executes testing plans to evaluate the pavement performance of APT sections. Collaborates with staff to conduct performance testing and maintain data reporting tools containing test results. Compiles, analyzes, and interprets collected data to prepare advanced technical reports for program participants and stakeholders. Provides regular updates on APT activities, key findings, and implementation progress during technical committee meetings, professional workshops, and academic conferences to promote knowledge sharing. Prepares and signs/seals related engineering documents and specifications as required.
Manages projects and contracts. Plans and supervises the daily work of consultant staff. Oversees and manages the engineering activities associated with the Department's APT and statewide experimental performance monitoring programs. Continuously reassesses program needs and the relevance of related activities and deliverables to support a safe, durable, and cost-effective roadway system.
Manages contracted research projects. Develops research problem statements, scopes of services, and requests for proposals. Serves as project manager or on technical review committees for contracted research projects. Performs thorough and highly technical reviews of proposals and deliverables. Provides technical comments and determines the approval status of deliverables. Facilitates the implementation of research findings.
Provides technical support and expertise to Department staff, Industry, and other customers.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, lead front-end sales associates in the replenishment of front end impulse fixtures and ensure exceptional service is provided to each customer in absence of the Front-End Lead Sales Associate. Provides support to other managers as requested.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead the work of sales associates serving as cashiers including six to eight active registers.
* Operate cash register and flatbed scanner as needed to provide great customer service.
* Authorize voids and overrides; count register; make bank deposits.
* Assist in maintaining strict cash accountability, key control, and adherence to company security practices and cash control procedures.
* Monitor cash levels and make appropriate drawer pulls as directed by the Store Manager.
* Monitor cameras for unusual activities (customers and employees), if applicable.
* Supply cashiers with change when needed.
* Complete all required paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines as assigned.
* Assist in the training of new cashiers;

We are looking to add a highly motivated and enthusiastic assistantresearch scientist with a can-do attitude, a strong passion for research and engineering excellence to our growing inter-disciplinary team comprising of Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science, and Electrical Engineers, as well as Applied Physicists.
The group conducts fundamental research on nanoscale mass-transport by leveraging the convergence between i) in-situ metrology, ii) bottom-up synthesis of nanostructures, and iii) process engineering for energy and healthcare applications. Specifically, we leverage atomically thin (2D) materials as ideal model systems to probe nanoscale mass transport at the extreme limits of length scales.
The successful candidate would conduct experimental research, prepare detailed scientific reports, and publish papers in top tier peer reviewed international journals. Specific focus areas are on understanding highly selective transport of sub-atomic/atomic/molecular species at the extremes of length-scales, fundamental insights into the mechanisms governing bottom-up synthesis of nanostuctured materials for atomic-scale control to enable rapid and highly selective transport, and development of strategies to realize functional devices to enable practical applications.
The candidate is expected to actively identify, contribute towards data curation, writing, and submission of federal/state/foundation funding grant applications with the eventual goal of moving towards principal investigator status on grants. Candidate is also expected to provide some level of day-to-day supervision for undergraduate and graduate students in the laboratory as well as work with academic/industrial collaborators.

Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Biology department on the Gainesville campus. Student worker needed to assist with biology/ecology courses, ecology field-based research projects, and UNG Earth Day event planning.
Responsibilities
* Activities will include: assisting professor and students during class labs, assisting students with projects and other course material, general maintenance of laboratory equipment, assist with ongoing field research projects on campus, assist with planning for UNG's annual Earth Day event.
Required Qualifications
* Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
* Preferred candidate will have successfully completed BIOL 1108K.
