The successful candidate will also serve as the Director of UND's Center for Process Engineering Research (CPER), one of five research centers managed through the CEM Research Institute. Duties & Responsibilities The Paleontology Undergraduate Research Assistant will assist Dr. Ullmann and his doctoral candidate with the subsampling of modern, naturally-weathered deer and caribou antler bone samples for three types of geochemical and molecular biology analyses (liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry, trace element analyses, and immunofluorescence), as well as help image the specimens and process and interpret portions of the resulting data. The Department of Chemistry is seeking a 12-month, post-doctoral research fellow to conduct research on the development and testing of new methods and algorithms for solving challenging quantum chemistry problems on future quantum computers. The initial appointment will be for one year and is full-time and benefitted, with potential for renewal for a second year, pending annual review of performance and continued availability of funding. The Department of Chemistry in Abbott Hall at the University of North Dakota is well-equipped for ongoing research performed by individual faculty and is funded by external funding from the National Science Foundation, ND EPSCoR, PRF ACS and other agencies. Abbott Hall houses 29 laboratories and classrooms, over 30 faculty and student offices including space for modern teaching and research facilities. The lab has access to several computing resources including at UND Computational Research Center and ACCESS national computing grid.
