Position Summary
The Marsico Institute is accepting applications for ResearchAssistant Classroom Observers will work as part of a team for an efficacy research study implementing and evaluating an early childhood curriculum, under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigators and Project Director. Observers will use standardized observation tools to collect observational data on preschool classroom instruction.
This position involves driving or commuting to sites in and around Jacksonville, Florida, collecting and entering classroom observation data and possibly conducting follow-up teacher interviews. All candidates will be required to fully participate in multiple in-person and/or virtual training sessions, fidelity work, inter-rater reliability training and observation sessions, and classroom-based in-person observations in pre-kindergarten classrooms.
This is a temporary, grant-funded position to begin work on or after February 9, 2026 through May 28, 2026, or until all classroom observation data has been collected. Classroom Observers must be available to travel to classrooms at multiple school sites in and around Jacksonville, Florida between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm at least 3 days per week Monday through Friday. Access to a vehicle and adherence to DU Driving Procedures, including the successful completion of a driving background check and online driving safety course is required for this role.
Observers will also be required to complete and pass criminal background checks for both the University of Denver and all background checks, including fingerprinting, required by participating schools in a timely manner. Failure to complete and pass either of these components will result in an inability to carry out the project work and, therefore, will result in immediate separation.
Required training for observers will take place virtually and/or at a TBD location in the Jacksonville area at the following dates and times. Observers must fully attend all training sessions; failure to attend any sessions in their entirety may result in immediate separation.
Required Training Sessions: February 18, 19, 20, 23, and 24; 12:00pm - 5:00pm ET; Virtual Zoom Training
Required Certification Timeline: Initial round certification video and material due by February 27, 2026, 4:00pm ET. Assessors cannot begin data collection until they have passed certification.
Important: To continue in this position, following training sessions, observers will be required to pass a certification process demonstrating they are able to reliably conduct and code all observations with fidelity to the instruments. The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency of a minimum of 85% accuracy of instrument administration and coding on all portions of the observations to achieve certification. Candidates will have two attempts to complete the certification process outlined above. If certification is not achieved after two rounds, the candidate will not be permitted to move forward in this role, effective immediately.
This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

As the only providers of comprehensive endocrine care in the region we have unparalleled access to all types of endocrine pathology. Our pediatric diabetes program -~1200 patients to-date - has a significant interest in advanced diabetes technology . We also have a 3-year Pediatric Endocrine fellowship program - 1 fellow per year - in collaboration with the University of Florida.
Our program has had a heavy emphasis on clinical research with 25+ years track record of successful studies on the complex interactions of nutrients and hormones, specifically focusing on disorders of growth, disorders of puberty and type 1 diabetes. The University of Florida Department of Emergency Medicine - Jacksonville is seeking a full-time board-certified emergency physician leader with experience in federally funded research and industry clinical trials. Located in beautiful Jacksonville, Florida, the Department of Emergency Medicine is one of the oldest and well-established Emergency Medicine programs in the country. Tenured and non-tenured academic multi-mission tracks are available dependent on applicant experience and background. Responsibilities include research, patient care, and teaching. This position will be supported by a robust existing departmental research infrastructure with protected time and potential for transition to an assistant or associate chair leadership position.
UF Health Jacksonville's main clinical campus includes a 639-bed urban teaching hospital, ACS accredited Level 1 Trauma Center, separate pediatric emergency and observation units, regional poison center, and simulation center located in downtown Jacksonville. The department supports a nationally recognized residency training program and fellowships in pediatric emergency medicine, ultrasound, research, education, and patient safety. UF Health North is a rapidly growing community hospital with over 200 beds and a 35-bed emergency department. Additional clinical sites include 3 new state of the art freestanding transitional EDs and UF Health Wildlight Urgent Care. This position will offer opportunities to expand on the current emergency medicine research portfolio while providing vision and leadership for the department's continued journey as a national leader in federally funded grants (NIH, HRSA, CDC, SAMHSA, etc.) and industry sponsored clinical, device, and biomarker studies. Current areas of research focus include pain management, adult and pediatric EMS, pediatric asthma, heart failure, pharmacogenomics, posttraumatic sequelae, toxicology, sepsis and infectious diseases.
The Division of EM Research manages approximately 80 projects and 60 active IRBs with annual funding of $9 million in federal, private foundation, and industry funded grants and programs including an EM Research Biosafety Level 2 laboratory for specimen processing and storage. Experienced clinical research coordinator coverage is provided 7 days per week including evenings. Departmental research staff include a PhD associate director, assistant director of clinical trials, research administrative specialist, IRB and REDCap coordinator, full and part-time clinical research coordinators, program managers, and student interns. All coordinators are certified phlebotomists. The Division administers the successful Pain Assessment and Management Initiative (PAMI) and the Florida Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) State Partnership Program. Research faculty have ongoing collaborations with numerous University of Florida colleges and departments for successful cross campus research. The Department participates in several multi-university research networks.

Position Summary
The Marsico Institute is accepting applications for Early Childhood Assessors. Assessors will work as part of a team for an efficacy research study implementing and evaluating an early childhood curriculum, under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigators and Project Director. Assessors will use standardized assessment tools to collect one-on-one assessment data on preschool student knowledge and skills in various content areas.
This position involves driving or commuting to sites in and around Jacksonville, Florida, assessing students using computer adaptive tests and interviewing students with strict, standardized protocols. Assessors will conduct assessments via paper-pencil and/or real-time iPad data entry. All candidates will be required to fully participate in multiple in-person and/or virtual training sessions, fidelity work, inter-rater reliability training sessions in in Jacksonville, Florida.
This is a temporary, grant-funded position to begin work on or after February 9, 2026 through May 28, 2026, or until all student data has been collected. Assessors must be available to travel and assess children at multiple school sites in and around Jacksonville, Florida between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm at least 3 days per week Monday through Friday. Access to a vehicle and adherence to DU Driving Procedures, including the successful completion of a driving background check and online driving safety course is required for this role.
Assessors will also be required to complete and pass criminal background checks for both the University of Denver and all background checks, including fingerprinting, required by participating schools in a timely manner. Failure to complete and pass either of these components will result in an inability to carry out the project work and, therefore, will result in immediate separation.
Required training for assessors will take place at a TBD location in the Jacksonville area at the following dates and times. Assessors must fully attend all training sessions; failure to attend any sessions in their entirety may result in immediate separation.

* Required Certification Timeline: Initial round certification video and material due by March 13, 2026, 4:00pm ET. Assessors cannot begin data collection until they have passed certification.
Important: To continue in this position, following training sessions, assessors will be required to pass a certification process demonstrating they are able to reliably conduct and code all assessments with fidelity to the instruments. The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency of a minimum of 85% accuracy of instrument administration and coding on all portions of the assessments to achieve certification. Candidates will have two attempts to complete the certification process outlined above. If certification is not achieved after two rounds, the candidate will not be permitted to move forward in this role, effective immediately.
This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Essential Functions

Hourly Range:
Hourly pay for this position ranges from $25.00 - $30.00 an hour, commensurate with education and experience.
