JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scholar. This position works closely with the Principal Investigator to identify the endogenous molecular factors and downstream signaling mechanisms regulating arterial lymphatic vessel formation and their role in the development of atherosclerosis, hepatic steatosis, and other cardiometabolic diseases. The project involves the use of multiple genetically engineered mouse models, in-vivo gene transfer, molecular biology techniques, as well as various biochemical, functional, and cell biology assays. Responsibilities Conduct molecular biology assays (including western blotting, PCR, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry). Perform physiological analyses. Maintain and perform in vitro cell culture experiments (primary and cell lines). Carry out animal surgical and tissue dissection procedures. Draft and edit manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
