Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with all aspects of beef cattle research at the MSU White Sand Unit. The examples provided are intended to demonstrate the types of duties typically associated with positions in this classification:
1. Assist faculty, staff, and students with research and/or projects.
2. Maintain inventory and records related to research and farm operations.
3. Design, perform, and/or implementation of research projects.
4. Collect, analyze, and interpret data.
5. Prepare reports, graphs, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
6. Operate farm equipment.
7. Maintain and ensure proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.
8. Support all aspects of grounds and operations maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: B.S. degree is required in animal science or related field.
Licensures: Valid driver's license. Have or be able to obtain a Category X Pesticide Applicator Certification.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. degree in animal science or related field is preferred. An emphasis in beef cattle management or appropriate experience is preferred. Demonstration of leadership and supervisory skills is preferred. Experiences in practices such as beef cattle management, beef cattle husbandry.

Major Duties / Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Conduct R&D projects and lead the expansion of R&D in PSR to take advantage of our multidisciplinary capabilities, multimodal strengths, and unique tools and capabilities;
- Develop new research programs with state and national agencies as well as with utilities and system operators (ISOs, RTOs);
- Lead and manage large technical projects related to power system cyber-physical security;
- Guide work of and mentor junior staff members;
- Network and develop collaborative R&D with other groups and divisions internally and with DOE, industry, and utilities;
- Interact with existing DOE sponsors in pursuit of new research funding;
- Prepare new proposals to the internal and external funding agencies;

Qualifications
The position requires:
A Ph.D. plus a minimum of 5 years of experience or Master's degree plus a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with experience in SCADA/EMS systems, power system communication, control and protection.
Thorough understanding of power system operation is required. Extensive knowledge is desired in areas of: electrical power system practices, principles and methods; restructured market practices and methods; IEEE and NERC standards, and issues related to power system integration and reliability.
Power systems engineering experience as an employee of a major public utility or equipment vendor is desired, in particular experience in research.
Experience and participation in standards and codes development committees is also desired.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to support regular interactions with sponsors, peer reviewers, and others and to prepare reports, proposals, publications and journal articles is required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support team building, partnering, and leadership are required.
Knowledge of relevant public and private stakeholders is required.
The demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, scopes, and budgets is required.
Demonstrated ability to be a motivating force in a technical team including the ability to provide coaching and mentoring to junior members of technical staff as well as thought leadership to senior/prestigious researchers is required.
A history of leadership in program development is also desired.
Frequent travel (often weekly trips and possibly international travel) is expected in this position.

**Security, Credentialing, and Eligibility Requirements**
As a national laboratory, PNNL is responsible for adhering to the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Department of Energy (DOE) Order 473.1A, which require new employees to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identify Verification (PIV) Credential. To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete the applicable tier of federal background investigation post hire and receive a favorable federal adjudication. Job Summary
Primary responsibilities include aiding in biological field sampling on small and large vessels, laboratory analysis of biological specimens, data recording/entry/checking, and maintenance of field gear. Aiding in specialized assigned projects (i.e. acoustic telemetry, trophic analysis, age and growth, reproductive analysis, molecular analyses, administrative duties).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Aiding in the collection of field samples, as needed, in support of assigned scientific research studies in a safe manner ensuring that all protocols are followed.
* Aiding in the processing and laboratory analysis of biological samples. Accurately records, enters, and checks data.
* Aiding in the maintenance and care of sampling gear.
* Aiding in specialized projects as assigned (i.e. acoustic telemetry, trophic analysis, age and growth, reproductive analysis, molecular analyses, administrative duties).
* Participates in outreach events and presents at public and/or professional forums
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in biology or related field of study from an accredited college or university and 1 year of experience OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Valid Driver's License (required).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Much of the field sampling will be on small and large research vessels. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate extensive prior experience with sampling with gillnet, trawl, and/or longline gear. Applicant must be willing to spend many days at sea, including some trips that will last for a week on a vessel.
* Ability to use a personal computer and standard computer software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) effectively.
* Capable with power machinery such as standard hand tools, power saws, drills, grinders, etc.
* Uses scientific sampling equipment such as trawls, gill nets, and long lines.
Preferred Qualifications
First Aid/CPR training.

**What you will do**
We are seeking a Technology Researcher to evaluate emerging hardware and infrastructure technologies, conduct focused research spikes and proof-of-concepts, and identify optimization opportunities for our database and cloud platforms. You will collaborate with product engineering teams to advance innovations from research to production, leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate your work.
Key Responsibilities
+ Evaluate emerging technologies in compute hardware, storage, networking, GPUs, DPUs, and accelerators for potential platform integration
+ Evaluate technologies such as eBPF, DASK and other communication protocols that all for distributed and heterogeneous system designs
+ Design and execute targeted research spikes and proof-of-concept projects to validate technology value and measure performance impact
+ Collaborate with product engineering teams to scope, test, benchmark, and document technology enhancements
+ Research industry trends, academic innovations, and partner technologies to identify optimization opportunities
+ Build business cases and present technology recommendations through innovation reviews
+ Leverage AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate prototyping and development cycles
**Who you will work with**
On our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of professionals in Office of the CTO, Product Engineering, Product Management, Sales and other key departments. You will play a crucial role in helping Teradata better understand our customers' needs through dedicated technology research, proof-of-concepts and defining next generation infrastructure choices for our product portfolio. This position will report to the Engineering Fellow of Partner Technology Research and will reside within the Office of the CTO.

Technical Skills:
+ Distributed systems engineering background with multi-node architecture experience
+ CUDA X and NVIDIA GPU ecosystem experience
+ rocM/HIP and AMD GPU ecosystem experience
+ eBPF, DASK or Arrow experience
+ HPC or distributed application development background
+ Public cloud platform proficiency
+ Foundational database systems knowledge (Teradata experience a plus)
+ Backend software development or infrastructure engineering experience
+ Scripting/automation capabilities (Python, Bash, or similar)
+ Comfortable with modern AI-assisted coding tools and platforms
Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science (distributed systems focus), Computer Engineering, or IT with equivalent professional progression
+ 2-3+ years in backend development, systems engineering, or infrastructure engineering
+ DevOps or infrastructure automation experience

Pay Rate: 84,000.00 - 105,000.00 - 126,000.00 Annually
Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on geographic location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and candidate experience. Sales roles will be eligible for commission payments tied to quota achievement. All other permanent roles will be eligible for one of our annual incentive plans, which are based on company financial attainment and individual performance.
