Purpose
To design, develop and evaluate welding machines and associated processes; to conduct applied research into new areas of welding machine design and/or on new welding processes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Utilizes and applies experience in a broad range of fields to understand weld machine development process and interactions between machine design and weld process development/optimization; collaborates with team members and members of the department, providing the benefit of this understanding to enhance the execution of projects
Develops new welding machines, software, welding processes and/or test methodologies in accordance with company policies/procedures and in consideration of:
Market needs, requiring direct interface with customers, sales and marketing
Industry codes, standards, and specifications, and
Manufacturing process capabilities, requiring direct interface with manufacturing and methods personnel
Establishes standards and methodologies for and conducts evaluations of product performance
Develops/refines test methods, as applicable, to support new product development, product evaluations, and competitive benchmarking
Facilitates development of manufacturing process capabilities to support introduction of new products
Works with minimal direct supervision, conferring with superiors as needed; has appreciable latitude for independent action or decision
May provide task oriented direction to Technicians, Technologists and/or Engineers Level I/II/III in the execution of development projects

Basic Requirements
Baccalaureate degree in Engineering (or equivalent). Degree in Welding Engineering preferred.
Minimum 8 years engineering experience.
Processes and applies a broad knowledge of engineering and scientific principles, practices and procedures, within the field of specialization, to the completion of difficult assignments.
Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint, as a minimum.
Possesses and applies both practical and fundamental understanding of various arc welding processes.
Experience with Robotic Programming.
Experience with numerical modeling tools including Python is a plus.

Position Objective
Working under general supervision, the Research Assistant 2 will plan and carry out research project in accordance with general research guidelines. The responsibilities include planning and performing experiments on projects related to cardiac contractile function. The research assistant will work closely with other lab members and focus on research involving molecular biology of cardiac muscle contraction. This position will perform a wide array of cellular and molecular biology experiments using gel electrophoresis, western blots, bacterial transformation and culture, and other in vitro techniques. The research assistant will use various molecular and computational methods to bridge the gap of understanding between structure and experimental observations in cardiac muscle physiology. This position will work with animals.
Essential Functions
* Plan and carry out research projects that characterize the roles of myofilament contractile proteins in the regulation of cardiac muscle contraction. (6%)
* Conduct a series of experiments to supply scientific information as part of a larger project. Plan, carry out, quantify, and analyze data from general molecular biology experiments, including design and implement cloning strategies, PCR analysis, mutagenesis, expression levels of cardiac proteins by various gel electrophoresis techniques and western blotting, gel purification, plasmid preparation, bacterial transformation, bacterial culture in order to express highly purified recombinant proteins for biophysical experiments. (35%)
* Plan, carry out, quantify, collect, and analyze data from mechanical experiments in isolated cardiac and skeletal muscle preparations. (35%)
* May assist in developing improved techniques, projection methods or procedures related to immunostaining of whole heart sections, isolated muscle fibers, and myofibrils. (10%)
* Prepare and present research results in lab meetings. (9%)

There may be exposure to research specific chemicals and the employee will need to take Chemical Safety Training. On -Call or Special Requirements
Responsibilities of the physician assistant to be available after hours or on weekends will vary by physician and circumstance. A physician assistant may be requested and/or required to attend sports physicals, sporting events or clinic coverage on nights or weekends at the discretion of their attending physician.
A physician assistant may also be required to remain available or called to assist their attending physician for hospital call responsibilities.
A physician assistant may on occasion be requested to assist the attending physician by triaging, evaluating or assist in management of an emergency department patient or after hour call from a patient of the practice. It is expected that this type of special requirement would not be a routine clinical practice.
A physician assistant may be requested to be an informal educator or formal clinical preceptor for a number of various students ranging from ATC students, physician assistant students and fellows.
Education/Experience Required:
Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) approved Physician Assistant Training program.
Must be certified by the NCCPA (National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants) or eligible to sit for the exam.
Licensure or eligible for licensing as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Ohio and other appropriate states.
If prescriptive authority is requested as part of practice privileges, the Physician Assistant must provide evidence of prescriptive authority eligibility as approved by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
Maintains CME hours for recertification (50 hrs CME category 1 and 50 hrs CME Category II) every two year period, and successful completion of their recertification examination every six years. Also maintains State of Ohio licensure per guidelines.

You will be part of a 4-6 person Summer cohort working out of our Beavercreek Ohio headquarters. Your work will have high visibility to both Awetomaton and Government Executives. This Summer you will work on a 2-person team to implement and evaluate SORT (Simple Online and Realtime Tracking) and Deep SORT algorithms for overhead reconnaissance imagery, exploring potential integration with existing tracking systems.
This is a full-time paid position for students that will have completed their Junior undergraduate year by Summer 2026. Approximate start date is May 18, 2026. Our benefit offerings are limited to 401k for internship candidates. US Citizenship is a requirement, as we are unable to provide Visa sponsorship. Key Responsibilities
Study and implement SORT and Deep SORT tracking algorithms
Adapt algorithms for remote sensing imagery data processing
Benchmark performance characteristics
Computational complexity per frame
Memory efficiency with active track management
Real-time processing capability
Investigate integration pathways with more robust tracking algorithm for dynamic algorithm switching in high-density detection environments
Document algorithm performance, limitations, and recommendations for operational deployment
Familiarity with platform management concepts including containerization and Kubernetes
Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with Junior year completed by Summer 2026
US Citizen
Strong foundation in computer vision and/or machine learning
Programming proficiency in Python (PyTorch experience preferred)
Familiarity with object detection and tracking concepts
Ability to read and implement algorithms from academic papers
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with video processing or sensor data analysis
Knowledge of deep learning architectures for appearance-based tracking
Interest in defense/aerospace applications
