The Associate Research Specialist will perform molecular biology techniques (cloning, plasmid generation, DNA and RNA isolations), protein work including Western blots, generate lentivirus, culture neurosphere cell lines, and perform functional genomics experiments in these cell lines. This individual will be expected to be organized, understand scientific concepts, plan and prepare for experiments, and conduct routine and non-routine laboratory procedures. This person will be expected to accurately document their methods, analyze data, and assist in the preparation of results for publication in research journals as well as posters or presentations for conferences. The candidate will present in lab meetings and will engage in one-on-one meets with the PI on a regular basis to discuss research progress and professional development, including mentorship regarding graduate and/or medical school. Additional laboratory responsibilities include ordering lab supplies, lab maintenance, and lab management. **Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience** : 1+ year of experience performing independent laboratory research experiment at the time of start. Qualifications * Working toward a Master of Financial Engineering or a related quantitative field (graduation between 12/2026 and 6/2027). * Prior coursework or experience in one or more programming languages (such as Python, R, SQL) and strong proficiency in Excel; VBA experience is a plus. * Solid academic background with a demonstrated interest in finance, quantitative analysis, and investments. * Desire to develop practical skills in risk management, portfolio analytics, quantitative research, and data science. * Experience working with data management, visualization, or research projects preferred. * Highly motivated, analytical, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate effectively on team-based projects. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.     The Residential Education Graduate Assistant (REGA) is a live-in position whose primary functions are to assist the Towers Hall Assistant Director with high-touch strategies, student care and conduct support, Resident Assistant (RA) training and leadership, and student success initiatives within the framework of the residential living experience in a large freshman/sophomore living area. The role is designed based on an apprenticeship model where Graduate Assistants are invited into many departmental processes to both observe, learn alongside, and contribute. It is expected that they would finish their time in this role at Vanguard University with a broad knowledge of housing operations, residence life, professional teamwork, student affairs, and student care and conduct that will prepare them for a future career in higher education. This position is approximately 20 hours per week for about 10 months. RESPONSIBILITIES: The REGA assists the Towers Hall Assistant Director with Huntington and Laguna Hall living area building management, RA team leadership, and residential student success throughout the academic year including but not limited to leadership training and development, check-in, care/conduct meetings, check-out, student mentorship, programming, group discipleship, data tracking, and identifying emerging residential education opportunities. The REGA will provide student-facing service in the Residence Life and Towers Hall offices through front desk support, housing operations tabling, and some after-hours emergency care.
