Given the complexity of the work involved, a minimum commitment of two years is preferred. Qualifications PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Administration of cognitive tasks and questionnaires to patients undergoing intracranial monitoring for epilepsy treatment or electrode implantation surgery for treatment of movement disorders. Assists in writing research publications. Performs independent literature searches and selects references for final publication. Prepares data and graphics. Assists in presenting study findings to interested groups both inside and outside of the hospital. Key Responsibilities: * Independently develop large-scale computer codes, almost exclusively using the software MATLAB, and implement novel algorithms for characterizing brain networks and their developmental trajectories. * Analyze large volumes of fMRI, structural MRI and diffusion MRI data. * Develop statistical models for longitudinal analyses. * Maintain and expand the capabilities of a novel computational platform for large-scale analysis of very large brain datasets. * Participate as co-author in manuscripts and conference abstracts. Minimum Qualifications Education: * Bachelor of Science in degree in Neuroscience, Biological/Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (with a focus on Signal Processing) or Physics. * Coursework in computational Neuroscience (if pursuing a degree in Neuroscience). * If not a Neuroscience graduate, basic coursework in Neuroscience. Experience: * Experience in MATLAB programming and ability to independently write codes is required. * At least 1 year of research experience. * Experience in analysis of human brain data is heavily preferred. * Experience in fMRI data processing is preferred.
