We are looking for a Senior AI Algorithm Scientist with a strong background in mathematics, statistics, and AI/ML to design and define new mathematical models from scratch. This role is central to our AI innovation efforts and focuses on creating theoretically grounded and practically effective algorithms, which will then be passed to ML Engineers for training and deployment.
Unlike typical ML engineering or data science roles, this position is research-heavy and modeling-centric. You will act as the architect of novel algorithms that deeply reflect the business context and data behavior.

Your Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct statistical and economic analyses of current macroeconomic, microeconomic, financial, and regional data, and provides support for the economists in their academic research and policy work.
Support the economists in their basic and applied research by following instructions to perform tasks including collecting data, conducting moderately complex statistical analysis, writing code for model estimation, and organizing the presentation of results.
Prepare a variety of charts, tables, and descriptive text for department management or other staff economists to use in their briefings of the President and the Board of Directors.
Collaborate with economists at all stages of the research process - from literature reviews and data analyses to regressions and presentations of results [on some occasions, efforts will be substantial enough to lead to jointly authored articles with economists]

Position Summary

The museum's collection of Applied Arts of Europe comprises 9,500 works of art ranging in date from 1100 to 1945, with strengths in the fields of Arms and Armor, 18th century design, and 19th century design reform. Collection holdings include furniture, ceramics, glass, metalwork, and other mixed media.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Department of Applied Arts of Europe (AAE) seeks a Research Assistant to aid in the researching of the collection of Arms and Armor for publication of a collection catalogue. This is a full-time two-year position reporting to the Amy and Paul Carbone Curator of Arms and Armor, in close consultation with the Collection Manager. The Research Assistant is responsible for the organization, preservation, documentation, and research of archival materials under AAE's stewardship with a focus on the Arms and Armor holdings of the AAE collection. They will facilitate access to the department archives through scanning and digitization of object files, deaccession records, acquisition documentation, installation images, and publication and exhibition histories. The assistant will work collaboratively with the curator of Arms and Armor to explore issues of connoisseurship, provenance, and material history. Additionally, the assistant will contribute to research related to the development of programs, permanent and temporary exhibitions, and online publication projects that feature the museum's Arms and Armor holdings and European decorative arts before 1700.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Processes and digitizes department archival material to professional standards
* Supports research efforts by providing organized access to the department archives
* Updates publication, exhibition history, provenance, and core data of objects in the Museum's collection management system under the supervision of the Curator, Collection Manager, and Research Associate
* Gather primary and secondary research on objects in the Arms and Armor collection, including comparable images and technical research from peer institutions; and related technical and art historical literature
* Works with the Curator to examine objects in the collection for updates to the object files and Museum's collection management system
* Submits research requests and examines Art Institute of Chicago Institutional Archives in support of object file documentation and research related to publication projects
* Works with Curator to write or edit permanent and temporary exhibition labels, catalogue entries, audio tours, and web content

Intern description
The CRT research team is offering part-time unpaid research internships to qualified undergraduates in the Chicago area.Most of the work is remote; however,interns are expected to come into the office at least once a week in order to help with tasks on site.
The Summer cohort typically starts mid-Mayand goes throughmid-August, although scheduling can be flexible.
Interns will be involved in multiple ongoing projects, such as:
ongoing evaluation of the Trauma Treatment Program
evaluation of a grant program providing training in Youth Mental Health First Aid
the development of a database about children 0 to 18 who have participated in psychological evaluations at CRT

evaluation of a gun violence prevention program being implemented in schools around the city
Interns will be actively involved in most aspects of the research process including searching for relevant literature, putting together research materials, interviewing families, inputting and cleaning data in Excel and IBM SPSS, and helping with data management and analysis. This internship does not provide any clinical experience, i.e., direct contact with children, but is geared for students who would like to learn more about the research/program evaluation work at a non-profit organization. Students will receive the necessary training to do these tasks on these projects and will receive supervision from research team members led by a licensed clinical psychologist. Interns are expected to work at least 6 hours per week, but more hours can be accommodated. Internships can be set up for one, two, or more semesters.
Qualified Applicants will be undergraduate students who have:
Completed at least one introductory course in psychology, behavioral science, child development, or social work with a grade of B or above, or enrolled in a pre-medical course of study,
Demonstrated merit in their undergraduate studies up until the present time,
Expressed an interest in pursuing future careers or further education in empirical research or medicine, and
Displayed the ability to work well with other people in a team-oriented atmosphere.
