About this Position
The researchassistant is part of the HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) Study at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. The researchassistant is responsible for recruiting study subjects, data collection, and conducting supportive tasks that ensure successful research visits for study subjects. The researchassistant will be trained to collect data including survey questionnaires, EEG acquisition, MRI scans with infants, babies, and children, biospecimen collection, biosensors collection, and behavioral assessments. Supportive tasks include providing support to additional family members during visits, planning and executing team or board meetings, and preparing for data collection.
Responsibilities:
Recruit research participants for the study at local OBGYN Clinics, Substance Use Treatment Centers, community events, and other community partner agencies
Perform inventory of all study supplies and work with Project Manager to reorder when necessary.
Prepare biological samples for shipment to HBCD laboratories, using dry ice, and using extreme caution for identifying the correct samples.
Be trained on infant testing measures such as the NIH Baby Toolbox and Deferred Imitation; and managing data for the OSU site.
Collect data across modalities of the study including, Questionnaires, Biosamples such as urine, saliva, nails, infant stool, Biosensors, EEG Acquisition, MRI support, and/or Behavioral assessments
Maintain study platforms such as Ripple to track participation, store contact information and other personal information necessary for communication around scheduling and retention.
Ensure the laboratory is prepared for experiments (maintain inventories, maintain sterile conditions as required)
Train and perform in a supervisory/staff support role during research visits while supporting team members in completing tasks, making decisions in the moment, handling emergency based on protocol, and ensuring all components of a research visit are accurately administered and all steps are completed.
Support parents during an MRI scan, managing the child participant during EEG visits, and assisting in other data collection duties that support the data collection team.
Attend national and local team meetings and trainings, and represent the OSU site on meetings when needed.
Support transportation needs for research families when needed, including being responsible for renting an OSU car and driving families to and from the research center.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
1-2 years of previous experience working in an infant and/or child development lab and collecting data with infants and children
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Ability to manage multiple tasks and exceptional time-management skills is necessary.
Experience with data entry, data coding, and (possibly) data analyses - Exceptional communication skills including a compassionate and warm communication style.
Fine attention to detail and ability to navigate complex protocols.
Ability to resolve issues in a timely manner and ensure smooth data collection appointments.
Ability to navigate various data collection platforms and project management programs such as Ripple, ASANA, REDCap, and others that may be presented by the National Consortium.

The Psychophysiology Lab for Affective Neuroscience ( PLAN ; ********************************************** ) in the University of Tulsa's Department of Psychology seeks candidates for a 2 full-time ResearchAssistant Professors ( RAP ) who will report to the director of the lab (Jamie Rhudy, PhD). Each position comes with salary, benefits, research space, and startup funds. Successful candidates will spend 25% of their time working on an NIH / NCCIH funded project that investigates the role of structural racism and discrimination ( SRD ) in the Native American chronic pain inequity. The remaining 75% of time will be spent developing their own successful line of research and stream of external funding under the umbrella of a new initiative to develop a center to combat health inequities. The RAPs will work closely with Dr. Jamie Rhudy (PI), Co-Is (Joanna Shadlow, PhD, Travis Lowe, PhD), and other PLAN researchers. Advanced training will be provided in psychophysiological assessment of stress and pain (e.g., EEG , EMG , EKG , respiration, skin conductance), quantitative sensory testing (e.g., temporal summation, conditioned pain modulation, contact heat evoked potentials), as well as blood (HbA1c, hs- CRP , lipids) and salivary (cortisol) biomarkers of allostatic load. The RAPs have the option of being involved with all aspects of the NIH -funded study. The project is approved by the University of Tulsa, Cherokee Nation, and Indian Health Service-Oklahoma City area office IRBs. There will be ample opportunities for authorship/co-authorship on presentations and publications from PLAN projects, as well as opportunities to teach and mentor.

THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION
Postdoctoral fellow will support research on periconceptional and perinatal health behaviors, including substance-exposed pregnancies. This fellowship will be affiliated with the NIH-funded HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) study. The ideal candidate will have experience collecting data from diverse pools of human subjects, conducting data analysis, and writing manuscripts. The candidate will have opportunities to mentor graduate and undergraduate students and be well supported in manuscript writing and presentations at national conferences. The fellow will also have support and opportunities for mentored grantsmanship (e.g., K-series applications) if interested.
Postdoctoral fellow will assist with the following duties: a) manuscript preparation from existing datasets; b) recruiting and retaining study participants in a longitudinal trial; c) data collection activities with pregnant people; d) data collection activities with infants and young children; and e) data analysis. The fellow will have opportunities to coauthor multiple scientific articles from existing primary datasets and write federal grants leveraging the resources and interdisciplinary connections across Public Health, Psychiatry, Psychology, Neuroscience, Family Medicine, and Human Development and Family Science, among other departments.

POSITION INFORMATION:
We are searching for a full-time Bilingual Research Associate to work on our Educare Implementation Study and other research projects. The Educational Research Associate will work closely with Educare staff, children and families to evaluate children's development and classroom practice. Duties include conducting child assessments, classroom observations, collecting staff and family surveys and interviews, and assisting the PI and project director with all other project related duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assists Project Director with project implementation and ensures adherence to research protocols.
Administers and scores standardized child assessments and classroom observations; maintain certification and reliability on all required tools.
Conducts field-based research including site visits, interviews, focus groups, and classroom observations with children, families, educators, and administrators.
Collects, enters, verifies, and manages quantitative and qualitative data following approved protocols; assists with maintaining well-organized and accurate data systems across digital and physical platforms.
Prepares and supports dissemination of project materials, including summary reports, descriptive and analytical reports, literature reviews, presentations, and other deliverables.
Builds and maintains effective working relationships with project staff, department staff and faculty, early childhood professionals, and community partners; actively participates in meetings and contribute to communication with stakeholders.
Stays current on early childhood education research and child development literature; synthesizes and share relevant findings with project and department.
Supports overall project success by assisting with operational and administrative tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Child and Family Studies, Psychology, Education, or a related field required, AND:
Required Experience\: At least 24 months of documented experience in research, early childhood education, or social services required, which may include direct work with children, program evaluation, data collection, or support roles in academic or community-based research settings.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Clear and professional written and verbal communication, including presenting research to diverse audiences.
Understanding of basic research methods, including collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, Qualtrics, and other research data management programs.

Strong attention to detail in all aspects of data collection, entry, and reporting.

Working Conditions:

About this Position
