The Otterbein University is seeking a Graduate Intern for Customer Service in the Courtright Memorial Library who is responsible for performing and supervising the circulation functions necessary to maintain library operations during extended evening hours as listed in the details below.
This position report to the Circulation Manager and is a part-time 12-month position (working breaks), 20 hours/week. During the academic year, required hours include Sun 7pm-12midnight, Mon-Thurs 9pm-12midnight and 3 choice hours (preferably consistent throughout a single term). Hours will vary during summer and university breaks.
Benefits include a bi-weekly stipend, a tuition waiver and meal plan.
* Assisting in the training and supervision of undergraduate student assistants. Motivate student assistants to perform assigned duties effectively, including desk activities and stack maintenance. This position will provide basic reference/research assistance as needed and is responsible for closing the library with an undergraduate student/secure the facility.
* Assisting with the processing of materials for our course reserve collection, connecting with faculty/staff regarding new additions to course reserves and future course reserve needs.
* Using university-wide FMX software to schedule library classrooms/other bookable spaces. Create and post signage daily to show what events are happening in each space.
* Exercising discretion, judgment, and providing clear guidance to library users in enforcing library policies and procedures. They are responsible for maintaining an appropriate sound level in building, monitoring the building and reporting any security infractions/problems and/or building maintenance issues to appropriate team members, the Library Director and/or other relevant parties.
* Working as a member of the Public Services team (Circulation and Research Help), assisting with library-wide projects and participating in cross-training, and maintaining open lines of communication with the Public Services team, Library Director, and other library employees.
* Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises undergraduate student workers as assigned.

Conduct intake assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, and assist in the development of treatment plans.
Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling sessions under supervision.
Participate in case conferences, treatment planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with organizational and legal standards.
Provide support services to clients navigating community resources and referrals.
Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance at all times.
Engage in ongoing supervision and training sessions.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Social Work (BSW/MSW) or Counseling (MA).
In good academic standing and approved to begin a clinical placement.
Must obtain and maintain a valid Social Work Trainee (SWT) or Counselor Trainee (CT) license issued by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board prior to starting the internship.
Demonstrated interest in behavioral health, community health, or integrated care settings.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to maintain professionalism and ethical boundaries in client interactions.
Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Office Suite, Outlook and Teams.
Adept at learning and navigating electronic health record systems.

This program is ideal for students pursuing careers in behavioral health, human services, and other related disciplines, as well as those interested in administrative and operational roles within a healthcare system.Internship opportunities are available across DBH's six regional behavioral health hospitals and central office, allowing students to gain exposure to different aspects of the behavioral health system. Internship placements may include, but are not limited to:Human Resources - Learn about talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, and workforce planning within a large state agency.Information Technology - Gain experience in IT support, cybersecurity, data management, and digital transformation initiatives that support mental health services.Communications - Assist with public relations, content development, social media, and community outreach to promote mental health awareness and agency initiatives.Other Administrative Areas - Explore roles in finance, policy development, research, and program management, contributing to the effective operation of a statewide healthcare system.Through this program, students will have the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, explore potential career paths, and develop critical job skills.
