Job Description Pando Little School is seeking current and aspiring educators for our summer teaching fellowship. Fellows will co-create and facilitate a dynamic preschool curriculum while receiving expert mentorship from Pando educators. As a teaching fellow, you will • Work directly with children ages 2.5 to 5. • Create a pedagogical portfolio to showcase your teaching accomplishments. • Use reflective practices to deepen your work with children, families, and colleagues. • Gain experience with the Reggio Emilia approach. • Learn about anti-bias curriculum in the preschool setting. • Enjoy a unique experience at a progressive school. The 5 week fellowship includes a week of orientation, 4 weeks working with children, and supportive mentorship throughout. Fellows will be on a three person teaching team with just 12 children, so the fellowship is a great opportunity to tinker with curriculum and pedagogy. The desired start date is August 2026. The appointed faculty member will initially teach within first-year courses in the SoE. Within the SoE "engineering" includes engineering, computer science, and construction management. We developed and piloted an interdisciplinary, project-based, first-year engineering course, which we intend to expand to accommodate all incoming first-year SoE students. The appointed faculty member will work closely with and report to the Director of First-Year Engineering and Integrative Engineering, and they will collaborate across all SoE academic departments, with SoE leadership, and with our Engineering Student Success Center. Together with this team and through these first-year engineering and integrative engineering initiatives, the appointed faculty will help enact the SoE's strategic objectives to improve student success pathways (goal 1) and build a culture of equity and inclusive excellence (goal 3). Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Ph.D. in engineering, engineering education, or a related field. * Experience with teaching relevant courses (e.g., undergraduate, first-year, engineering design). Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a record of innovation in interdisciplinary engineering and/or first-year engineering. * Experience in designing, teaching, and assessing SoE courses, with a preference for experience teaching design, project-based courses, and/or interdisciplinary engineering courses. * A commitment to student success and innovative curriculum pathways. * An understanding of the assets students (e.g., UNM SoE students) from a variety of backgrounds bring to their learning, and the tools to build on those assets in the classroom so that all may succeed. * Excellent oral and written communication and collaboration skills, including working with staff and faculty across roles and backgrounds. * Familiarity or experience with engineering education research and/or scholarship of teaching and learning in ways that can advance engineering learning and student success at UNM. The Department of Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a full time Pathologists' Assistant to expand our existing team of 3 PAs. The PA will contribute to the overall mission of the institution by providing outstanding patient care, pursuing knowledge and excellence of practice, and fostering a supportive learning environment for trainees. Our 3 PAs have a combined total experience of 30 years. Our expertise is an ideal setting for either a new graduate looking for a supportive career start and mentorship, or an experienced PA who enjoys teaching and grossing a wide variety of specimens. Our Pathologists and PAs currently serve the University of New Mexico Hospital, associated clinics, an outside hospital, and an outside outpatient surgical center. We have an annual volume of approximately 20,000 surgical specimens. As the state's only Level 1 trauma center, UNM provides the highest level of care for critically injured patients. UNM is also opening a new $700 million Critical Care Tower, the largest construction project by total cost in the history of New Mexico. The tower is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2025 and will have an 18-room operating suite being referred to as "the operating room of the future". This faculty position comprises clinical service, teaching, and research responsibilities and is high visibility. PAs interact with Pathologists, Surgeons, Residents, Fellows, and Clinicians. The PAs compose thorough clinical histories and clinical work varies from simple to complex specimens. Complex specimens include laryngectomies, pancreaticoduodenectomies, soft-tissue tumors, and amputations for tumors. With a busy head and neck service, PAs perform numerous frozen sections and intraoperative consultations daily. Gross photography and triaging tissue for special studies including flow cytometry and cytogenetics are required. As faculty lecturers, the PAs are heavily involved in teaching pathology residents and medical students rotating through the lab. One resident ranging from PGY1 to PGY3 is assigned to the gross room each day, with a total of 16 residents. Residents are guided through dissection of all surgical specimens and achieve competency in performing frozen sections. Research responsibilities consist of triaging tissue for tumor banking and Children's Oncology Group (COG) studies. There are no autopsy responsibilities. This position offers competitive pay with excellent benefits including annual stipend for AAPA conference or educational resources. New PA graduates are welcome to apply.
