This is a labor pool from which the College of Arts and Sciences will draw when graduate research assistants are needed to work on sponsored projects. Incumbents will join faculty and researchers who are active in conducting research in various disciplines. This will include working on one or more funded projects in these research areas under the guidance of Principal Investigators.
Knowledge of data collection procedures, data entry procedures, and computerized spreadsheets and databases. Ability to manipulate data to produce charts and graphs to display trends in data. Ability to interpret data results for reporting. Ability to work in remote locations, sometimes in extreme conditions.
To thrive in this role graduate students must have a desire to continue to learn by collecting data samples, reporting their findings, and working well with others.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and enrollment in a graduate program at the University of Alaska.
Salary Information:
Master's Student: $25.17/hourly equivalent
Doctoral Student $29.80/hourly equivalent

The Alaska Humanities Forum is seeking a motivated individual to join the Teaching Fellows team. Fellows collaborate to lead Story Works programming, serve as role models for students, and represent the program and the Forum within the Anchorage School District.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Story Works or similar programming and a passion for education or positive youth development.

Position Description
Teaching Fellows work collaboratively to lead two-week storytelling workshops in Anchorage School District schools, helping students explore and share their personal stories. Under the supervision of the Youth Program Manager, Fellows build supportive relationships with youth, facilitate workshop activities, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment. The role also involves coordinating with volunteers, preparing workshop materials, and supporting related programming.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Facilitate two week Story Telling Workshops with the support of other Teaching Fellows and program staff
Build supportive relationships with students as they explore and share their own stories
Support volunteer involvement including outreach for Story Coaching days and the general sharing of information related to future volunteer opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities:
Support the preparation of necessary workshop materials including student booklets, program promotional materials or student stickers.
Support implementation of Story Works essay writing workshops
Support the creation of a space for youth resilience building, healthy social connections, and strengthening relationships with trusted adults.
Qualifications:
Passion for youth storytelling
Strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to equitable and inclusive practices in youth engagement and education
Will be expected to be onsite at Anchorage School District schools. Ability to drive a personal vehicle preferred.

The WWAMI School of Medical Education is currently hiring adjunct faculty positions. WWAMI is a cooperative arrangement between UAA, the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM), and other 4 states in the WWAMI consortium (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho); Alaskans are accepted into the program and receive their Foundation phase of medical school at UAA.
As an adjunct faculty member you will serve as a Foundations guide and work closely with UWSOM and UAA faculty at the WWAMI site in adapting and deploying (and in some circumstances developing) the UWSOM Foundations Phase curriculum in Anchorage. This will involve working closely with Block leaders in the UW School of Medicine and the UAA WWAMI program. This may include teaching in one or more of the blocks in the 18-month Foundations Phase Curriculum. This will include preparing for classes, facilitating student learning during classes & reviewing and discussing assignments, following up with students as needed, or serving as a resource for medical students and if specifically assigned additional responsibilities may include student remediation, submitting evaluations in a timely fashion, participating in faculty meetings and committee work of the WWAMI curriculum, interprofessional education and service-learning activities.
The physician must meet the requirements for appointment to the faculty at the University of AlaskaAnchorage.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree and board certification in an American Board of Medical Specialties recognized medical specialty. A minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience in a relevant field. A minimum of five years of clinical practice and teaching is preferred with some of this experience having occurred in the Anchorage medical community. Past experience teaching with medical students preferred. Prior experience and involvement with the WWAMI program is preferred.
Education, training and experience in a primary care field of medicine are preferred.
