Department Summary
The Department of Finance, Lundquist College of Business, University of Oregon seeks to fill one faculty position at Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Professor of Practice of Real Estate. We seek someone with the ability to teach various applied real estate courses, including but not limited to real estate finance, real estate investment analysis, real estate development, commercial real estate, real estate valuation methods, and real estate market analysis. Our preference is to find an individual who has significant prior experience working in the real estate industry.
This is a 9-month instructional contract. Summer opportunities may be available.
Position Summary
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to teach up to eight graduate or undergraduate courses, primarily focused on commercial real estate. These might include topics like finance, investment, and development. If you're involved in research or take on additional responsibilities, there's flexibility to adjust your course load accordingly, with support from the department head and Senior Associate Dean.
Beyond teaching, you'll be part of a vibrant academic community. About 20% of your time will be dedicated to service activities-this could mean joining departmental or university committees, contributing to professional organizations, or mentoring student groups like our Real Estate Investment Group. We also value strong connections with the real estate industry, and you may serve as a liaison to help bridge academia and practice.
While research isn't a formal requirement for this position, we deeply appreciate a passion for field-based research in real estate. If that's something you're excited about, your work will be welcomed and supported.
Professional development is also a key part of this role. Staying current in the field and attending relevant conferences will help you grow and bring fresh insights into the classroom.
You'll also play an important role in advising both undergraduate and graduate students, supporting them through office hours, project guidance, and one-on-one mentorship.
Minimum Requirements
To quality for an Assistant Teaching Professor position
• Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in real estate, construction, or business-related discipline
• Experience teaching quantitative courses, as demonstrated by prior teaching expertise, teaching evaluations, or teaching demonstration
For appointment at the rank of Associate Teaching Professor, candidates must also demonstrate they have six years of teaching experience post-receipt of a master's degree. The additional teaching experience does not guarantee appointment at the Associate Teaching Professor rank.
To qualify for a Professor of Practice, candidates must also demonstrate they
• Have a substantial basis of experience equal to a tenured professor (normally a minimum of 12 years) and a national/international reputation for excellence reflected in a record of significant accomplishments
• Have a profile of accumulated professional accomplishments fully congruent with the rank of professor
• Have a rich and extensive background in a field and discipline relevant to the school, college, or unit of appointment at the University of Oregon, and
• Can serve as a liaison between the professional field and the University of Oregon.

Teach courses that train students in hands-on automotive repair, diagnostics,
and shop safety- the same skills and standards used in today's professional
service centers. Specific teaching assignments will include your evaluation of
and feedback to the students related to their learning and ability to complete
repairs safely. Classroom instruction and activities will follow current ASE and

Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Automotive and/or Diesel repair or a closely related field,
plus a minimum of four years of full-time experience in Automotive and/or
Diesel repair. Or, 7 years of documented industry experience.
Experience must include diagnostics and repairs in suspension, steering, brakes, drive train,
electrical/electronic systems, and hydraulic systems. Also requires ASE
certification in drive train, automotive engines, suspension and steering,

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Physical Skills and Abilities: Learned physical required to operate equipment and tools. Changes in
performance environment require occasional upgrading of skills. Sustained walking and standing on concrete floor during lab sessions is required. Duties require frequent bending, standing, kneeling,
reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must have sufficient
hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate equipment.
Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and students one-on-one, over the phone, and in classroom/lab settings. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and operate lab equipment.
Working Conditions: Work is predominately indoors in college automotive/diesel labs and
classrooms with potential exposure to safety or health hazards. Work pressures, disturbances of

Responsibilities:
Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
Ambulate residents.
Apply proper lifting and transferring techniques.
Provide proper positioning and use of postural supports.
Maintain residents' positioning, as needed.
Weigh residents on schedule and record weights accurately.
Provide restorative and rehabilitative nursing.
Directly respond, within the scope of practice, to the needs and concerns of residents and family members.
Work with the care giving team to identify and resolve resident and family issues.
Promptly respond to call lights and other resident needs.
Treat residents with compassion and dignity.
Establish effective communication/interaction with residents and families.
Ensure residents are given the correct diet.
Use proper feeding techniques while respecting personal dignity and meeting the residents' needs for socialization.
Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years old.
Have graduated from a NA Training course within the past 60 days in the practicing state.
Ability to obtain the Certified Nurse Assistant certification within 120 days of hire. Once certified, the title will change to Certified Nurse Assistant and employee must maintain a current certification in the state throughout employment.
Have ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
Be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors.
Be willing to assist others, including co-workers.
Maintain regular attendance.
Meet all local health regulations, pass the post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.

The School of Architecture and Environment provides accredited professional (leading to licensure or certification) and post-professional education for architects, historic preservationists, interior architects, and landscape architects through 13 degree programs and post-professional research-based degrees: Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture (Track I & II), Master of Science in Architecture, Ph.D. in Sustainability, Bachelor of Interior Architecture, Master of Interior Architecture (Track I & II), Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Master of Landscape Architecture, Ph.D. in Landscape Architecture, Minor in Historic Preservation, and Master of Science in Historic Preservation. The School has 47 permanent faculty, approximately 700 students, and six office staff. In addition, 50 - 60 pro tempore professors, 60 - 70 Graduate Employees/Research Fellows, and 8 - 10 student assistants are hired per year.
Architecture
The Architecture Department examines how the design of the physical environment can repair the natural environment, regenerate communities, and elevate the human spirit. Broad societal challenges are addressed through the lens of specific clients, locations, and ecosystems. Established in 1914, the UO School of Architecture and Allied Arts was one of the first to break away from Beaux-Arts pedagogy to emphasize non-competitive, individualized education. Faculty are committed to creating a student-centered learning community that embraces multiple viewpoints. It is a department in which learning, research, and professional activity inform each other; in which new ideas and established traditions are in dialogue.
The department thrives on interdisciplinary academic partnerships in Eugene and engages in robust partnerships with professionals, government agencies, and non-profit organizations in Portland and around the globe. Historic Preservation
The School of Architecture & Environment's Historic Preservation program-the oldest such program on the West Coast-focuses on physical and social heritage. Students participate in the dynamic planning processes that shapes both urban and rural sustainability and apply the skills they learn in real-world projects, including the Pacific Northwest Field School, that help communities understand and protect their cultural resources and traditions.
Areas of expertise include an introduction to historic preservation, survey and inventory, national register nomination, preservation economics, land use ethics, adaptive use studio, building documentation, and analysis, cultural resource management/public policies in preservation, preservation technology, and American architectural history.
Interior Architecture
Interior architecture integrates critical analysis with creative thinking to revitalize, reuse, and adapt buildings to resonate with users and provide uplifting, healthy, and sustainable interior environments. The curriculum emphasizes design at all scales from large-scale adaptive reuse to furniture design and fabrication. Students and faculty collaborate closely with faculty in the Department of Architecture as they share required and elective coursework with professional programs in architecture. The Department of Interior Architecture offers fully-accredited professional degree programs in Architecture (BIArch and MIArch accredited by CIDA the Council for Interior Design Accreditation) as well as post-professional degrees: the Master of Science in Interior Architecture.
Landscape Architecture
The Department of Landscape Architecture is the oldest landscape architecture department on the West Coast. UO is the only university in Oregon that offers professionally accredited landscape architecture degrees, and one of only three universities in the nation to offer BLA, MLA, and PhD degrees. The new Environmental Design (BA/BS) degree has expanded the value of an environmental design education and increased our impact on workforce preparedness for climate change and resilience. The curriculum emphasizes understanding landscapes across multiple scales and contexts to support innovative design, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving. The department encourages engagement-based teaching, through cutting-edge initiatives such as the Urban Farm and the Fuller Center for Productive Landscapes, and partners with groups like UO's Sustainable Cities Initiative and the American Society of Landscape Architects to collaborate on projects that address pressing issues in actual landscapes with real stakeholders.

This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Teaching Assistant for the School of Marketing, Design, and Analytics at Oregon State University (OSU).
The TA will provide strategic teaching support for the DSGN342 Introduction to Design Management class; this includes assisting with in-class support during scheduled class times and grading student work (i.e., discussion boards, quizzes).
Pay rate for this position is $16.05 per hour.
Transferable Skill Development Position Duties
Main areas of duty are to support the instructor in ensuring all student work has been graded on time and that feedback is received in a timely manner; monitoring in-class attendance and supporting in-class activity facilitation.

Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years old.
Have graduated from a NA Training course within the past 60 days in the practicing state.
Ability to obtain the Certified Nurse Assistant certification within 120 days of hire. Once certified, your title will change to Certified Nurse Assistant and employee must maintain a current certification in the state throughout employment.
Have ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
Be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors.
Be willing to assist others, including co-workers.
Maintain regular attendance.
Meet all local health regulations, pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
