The Department of Dermatology at Wayne Health is seeking BE/BC applications for full-time dermatologists for clinic locations in the metro Detroit area. Wayne Health Dermatology currently consists of outpatient facilities in Troy, Monroe, Dearborn, and the Detroit area. We provide inpatient services to cover the hospitals of the Detroit Medical Center. Our program averages 24,000 outpatient visits, 900 inpatient consultations, and 5000 biopsy specimens annually. A major component of the Department's academic mission is teaching dermatology residents, non-dermatology residents, and medical students. Position Overview Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is seeking an experienced collision repair professional to join our Auto Body Repair program as a part-time faculty member to teach ATT 114: Applied Transportation Welding. This role will focus on teaching automotive aluminum construction, welding, and MIG brazing techniques. The successful candidate will bring real-world expertise and a passion for preparing students for in-demand careers in the automotive repair field. Instruction will take place in WCC's state-of-the-art facilities, using industry-standard tools and procedures to provide students with hands-on, applied learning experiences. Course Content & Teaching FocusIn this course, students will develop and apply basic welding and metal inert gas (MIG) brazing skills associated with crash-damaged panel replacement in the collision repair industry. Areas of study include:
Proper equipment selection and setup
Panel fitment and preparation for welding
Plasma cutting procedures
MIG welding of steel and aluminum in butt, lap, and plug weld configurations across various welding positions
MIG brazing techniques using various grades of steel
Emphasis will be placed on producing welds that meet Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) standards preparing students to meet the expectations of modern collision repair shops and OEM certification programs. Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in automotive aluminum construction, welding, and MIG brazing techniques.
Demonstrate proper use of tools, materials, and equipment while maintaining a safe learning environment.
Provide students with real-world applications and insights into current collision repair practices.

SUMMARY:
The Instructor is entrusted with imparting the knowledge and skills each student needs to be successful by providing quality delivery of assigned courses while ensuring that all students achieve competency in the course objectives. Instructors evaluate and resolve student questions, issues, and problems, and
ensure appropriate action is taken to the satisfaction of the student, Dorsey College, and/or regulatory agencies in compliance with policy, procedures, and legal requirements. Instructors are to be motivating, fair and impartial, creative, dedicated, and professional.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture and/or laboratory format based on the approved course outline by selecting and utilizing a variety of approved course materials and teaching methods that address all learning modalities to ensure that the needs of individual students in the program are met.
* Assess student learning using appropriate methods.
* Demonstrate effectiveness with strong outcomes in Student Retention, Student Success, and Student Attendance.
* Conduct an engaging classroom lecture and/or lab based on the course outline.
* Motivate students by demonstrating sensitivity for concerns and actively involving students in classroom discussions and/or activities.
* Advise students on attendance, grades, and issues in order to ensure successful completion of their course.
* Contact absentee students by text, email, and/or phone as needed to improve retention.
* Manage classroom environment through compliance with campus policies including but not limited to classroom management, attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
* Ensure instructor preparedness before class by listing the following information on the white board in class: Instructor Name and Contact Information (Google Voice Phone Number and Dorsey Email Address), Date, Class Name, Day's Objectives, and Next Session Objectives.
* Monitor and prepare supplies and equipment to ensure readiness prior to class, informing appropriate campus personnel when areas requiring attention are discovered.
* Participate in faculty, staff, committee, and in-service meetings. Attendance at commencement is strongly encouraged.
* Demonstrate professional growth in the subject in which you teach through a combination of several of the following activities: membership and participation educational associations, professional organizations, continuance of education, concurrent related business experience, educational research, and awareness of current practices and standards. Attendance at seminars, conventions, field visits, vendor shows, equipment exhibits, etc., are excellent opportunities for instructors to gain enrichment.
* Professional writing by an instructor is also an example of professional growth.
* Actively support other departments such as Financial Aid, Admissions, and Career Services.
* Ensure that all educational activity is conducted in a legal and ethical manner.

Experience

Current and valid Driver's License with clean driving record, with the ability to complete PCC driver's training
Ability to operate typical automotive machinery and complete training for new equipment as necessary

Salary: $47,496 - $92,683 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications

ROLE AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Teacher of Students with Cognitive Impairment is responsible for the instructional program and implementation of activities for the students in the assigned classroom. Responsible for the coordination of the activities of the assigned paraprofessional and support staff providing services for students in the assigned area.
Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
Provides and coordinates the instructional program for students in the assigned area of responsibility.
Assesses students' achievement and develops instructional strategies to meet individual educational needs of students in the assigned area of responsibility.
Implements developmentally appropriate curriculum and strategies for students assigned to the classroom.
Participates in Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) meetings and prepares reports for assigned students.
Participates in Individualized Education Program Team (IEPT) meetings and prepares draft/proposed IEPs based on individual student needs.
Assists in the scheduling, preparation, and coordination of IEPT meetings for assigned students.
Participates in the implementation of health care procedures in accordance with administrative operating procedures.
Coordinates and implements behavior intervention plans in accordance with district policy, administrative operating procedures, and state/federal rules and regulations.
Works cooperatively and communicates with district and constituent district staff, students, and parents/guardians.
Participates in physical education activities as required for students in the assigned area of responsibility.
Maintains accurate attendance records and appropriate reports.
Prepares and implements daily lesson plans consistent with each student's IEP.
Coordinates the preparation of bulletin boards, duplication of instructional materials, and other materials preparation activities as required in the assigned area of responsibility.
Responsible for participating in lunch, play, gym, and other activities as required to meet annual goals and short-term objectives for each assigned student.
Participates in staff meetings, in-service activities, staff development/special programs, school improvement teams, and planning committees as appropriate to the assignment.
Consults, counsels, and collaborates with parents, school personnel, students, and appropriate community agencies regarding behavioral and educational concerns developed in a multi-tiered system of support.
Consistently models Win-Win leadership.
Other Duties:
Represents the district on various community agencies and professional organizations as appropriate to the assigned area.
Provides information to the building principal related to the annual development and updates of the budget.
Drives to and from community-based instructional sites.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree required. Valid Michiganteacher's certificate required with approval in cognitive impairment.
Experience:
Demonstrated successful student teaching experience required; two years of experience preferred.
Skills/Other:
Must meet State of Michigan Department of Human Services Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance as applicable. Ability to explain and demonstrate appropriate teaching techniques. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as required skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Demonstrates initiative and understanding in working with students, staff, and parents/guardians. Ability to work creatively and skillfully with students. Demonstrated physical stamina necessary for assisting with lifting and moving students up to 26 years of age; repetitive stooping, squatting, bending, lifting, walking, kneeling, and reaching while maintaining personal balance and stability; implementing behavior intervention plans; and performing the essential job duties. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Exhibit emotional stability, exercise good judgment, and make decisions in accordance with board policies, administrative guidelines, and established procedures.
