This position is approximately 20 hours per week for about 10 months. RESPONSIBILITIES: The REGA assists the Towers Hall Assistant Director with Huntington and Laguna Hall living area building management, RA team leadership, and residential student success throughout the academic year including but not limited to leadership training and development, check-in, care/conduct meetings, check-out, student mentorship, programming, group discipleship, data tracking, and identifying emerging residential education opportunities. The REGA will provide student-facing service in the Residence Life and Towers Hall offices through front desk support, housing operations tabling, and some after-hours emergency care. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Participate in front desk management / office hours rotation and coverage during busy seasons for full-time staff and retreats Develop relationships with Huntington and Laguna Hall living area residents through high visibility and presence, campus event attendance, outreach, creative programming, and other high-touch strategies as identified Understand and winsomely communicate the rationale for Vanguard University Community Standards and code of conduct Assist with developing & facilitating 1-2 major campus-wide initiatives for residential students based on current year Maxient trends (preventative mental health, relational conflict, etc. Assist the Associate Dean of Residence Life with identifying, developing, and implementing passive programming that support the needs of students from diverse backgrounds in partnership with Intercultural Student Programs office Support, develop, and lead hall programs within Towers or in partnership with other halls Facilitate Huntington and Laguna Hall wellness checks, health and safety inspections, and room searches Facilitate or assist in the student care and conduct process including serving as case manager and student advocate Lead occasional RA staff meetings and RA mentorship under direction from the Towers Hall Assistant Director Participate in weekly on-duty emergency rotation Participate in Residence Life staff meetings, RA 1x1s, Towers Leadership Team meetings, and weekly meetings with the Towers Hall Assistant Director. Additional meetings with key Student Development staff also expected Contribute to department social media and website Other duties as assigned The REGA is required to be available for welcome weekend, December check-outs, January re-entry, graduation weekend, and occasional weekend programs.
