The Department of Nuclear Engineering & Industrial Management at the University of Idaho - Idaho Falls Center for Higher Education invites applicants for a high profile, tenured faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor rank in all areas of nuclear science, engineering, and closely related fields including, but not limited to contemporary and advanced nuclear fuel cycle analysis, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, neutronics and core design, cybersecurity, nuclear integrated energy systems, operations, fuel recycling, spent fuel disposition, transport, and storage. Rank and tenure are negotiable based on how the candidate meets the criteria outlined in the college and department bylaws. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Engineering, Radiological Engineering, Nuclear Physics, or Plasma Engineering. There is a high possibility that this position will be jointly appointed with Idaho National Laboratory to facilitate direct interaction with leading researchers in a wide range of fields.
Required Qualifications
An earned doctorate in Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Physics, Radiological Engineering or Plasma Engineering. A record of research demonstrated by external funding, publications, professional society recognition, impact on the profession. Experience with written and verbal communication. Experience with research and teaching in nuclear engineering and/or related fields in an academic environment consistent with appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Experience working with national laboratories or research consortia. Experience in a collaborative research environment. Principal investigator experience managing multiple grants Sustained history of leading large scale research teams. Eligibility to obtain a Joint Appointment with Idaho National Laboratory. Maintain active membership(s) in professional organization(s) Ability to obtain a DOE security clearance. Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Idaho within 5 years of hire.

Position Overview:

Minimum Requirements: PhD in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, by the time of appointment.
Salary and Benefits: The annual salary for this open-rank position starts at $110K for a 9-month assistant professor.
Our standard faculty contract is a 9-month contract (unless otherwise noted) with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. This is a yearly, renewable contract, unless noted that the position is temporary. More information about faculty contract and work days is available here.

Graduate teaching assistant job in Idaho
The Department of Psychology and Communication at the University of Idaho seeks applications for two faculty positions in Psychology. Both positions are tenure-track with an open rank for appointment of Assistant, Associate, or Full professor (rank and tenure are negotiable based on how the candidate meets the criteria outlined in department and college bylaws). Positions are anticipated to begin in August 2026. Potential for summer contract, to be negotiated annually with the Department Chair/Dean. These positions will conduct research with the expectation federal funding will be sought and secured, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Psychology, and provide outreach and service. The positions may support the master's program in human factors psychology and are expected to mentor students and teach courses in the doctoral program in experimental psychology. Areas of expertise within health psychology (broadly defined), addictions, or psychology of health are desired. Areas of expertise should have high potential for future federal funding. They may be unique but also complement existing areas of expertise within the department. Candidates must be able to teach courses serving the psychology majors at the undergraduate level. Candidates must have a record of securing funding from the National Institutes of Health, are expected to show a strong potential for excellence in research and must have a Ph.D. in psychology or related discipline by appointment start date.
