POSITION: The Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor as an Early Childhood Education specialist. This is a full-time, nine (9) month position and has an anticipated start date of August 4, 2025. We seek candidates who demonstrate a commitment to training and supporting success through their instruction, research, extension/outreach, and service responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will hold a 100% instruction appointment. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Teach and provide mentoring in undergraduate and/or graduate courses per semester in the Department of Human Development and Family Science. Candidates are also expected to assist with departmental efforts involving undergraduate and graduate student recruitment, retention, and other related service activities.
Engagement in professional development activities and scholarship related to the Department of Human Development and Family Science and instructional excellence.
Fulfill other duties as assigned.
In addition, the successful candidate may be asked to:
Assist in program and curriculum development and assessment, particularly for reviews by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the Office of Educational Quality and Accountability (OEQA).
Assume other responsibilities consistent with the comprehensive land grant mission of OSU.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD/EdD in early childhood education or child development or closely related field; ABD doctoral candidates will be considered, but the degree must be conferred before the official start date.
Teaching experience with Pre-K through 3rd grade children and Early Childhood teaching certification.
Evidence of competence in teaching and/or mentoring pre-service or in-service early educators.
Must have excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and Pre-K through 3
rd
-grade public and private school administrative personnel.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD/EdD in early childhood education. Knowledge and experience in education environments.
Previous experience supervising student teachers and teaching college courses.
Experience and knowledge of Oklahoma Licensing requirements.
Demonstrated instructional experience in university, college, and/or professional practice setting; ability to teach using multiple modalities (e.g., online, in-person, hybrid).
Demonstrated scholarly and/or field experience involving professional practice or community-engagement.

Course Description
This course emphasizes using specialized techniques employed in System Safety throughout all phases of a system's life cycle. Fundamentals of systems engineering, combined with sound management practices, are presented in this course to enable the student to fully appreciate System Safety's vital role in preventing mishaps. About the Counseling and Counseling Psychology Area: The Counseling and Counseling Psychology area is a dynamic program area with strong support from the College of Education and Human Sciences. The Counseling and Counseling Psychology area includes options in mental health counseling and school counseling at the master's level and counseling psychology at the doctoral level. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Worldwide campus is currently hiring adjunct faculty to teach STAT 211 - Statistics With Aviation Applications in person at our Oklahoma City, OK campus.
Course Description
Apply basic descriptive and inferential statistics; Identify types of data and sampling techniques; compute and interpret measures of central tendency, dispersion, elementary probability, confidence intervals, hypothesis tests and linear regressions.
Please note that ERAU policy requires that all adjuncts be physically located within the United States while working for the University, including during training. Presently, we are able to support work for new adjuncts from all U.S. states except
California
. ERAU does not support work from international locations with some limited exceptions for individuals who are residing and working from U.S. military bases.

As part of OSU's General Faculty, the successful candidate will contribute to the university's teaching mission and strategic initiatives. Primary responsibilities include: (1) Teaching lab-intensive undergraduate and/or graduate courses in ECE, spanning both foundational subjects (e.g., electric circuits, control) and advanced topics in machine learning and artificial intelligence; (2) Advising ECE students on academic matters; (3) Engaging in student-focused educational activities and outreach programs.
About the School:
The ECE department currently includes 20 full-time faculty members (including two CTF faculty members), 480 undergraduate students, and more than 70 graduate students.
