About the Commitment
Teaching Fellows commit to a minimum of three years at Santa Fe South. During the first year, known as the residency year, Fellows train alongside a highly effective lead teacher in an anchor classroom to build their teaching skills and confidence. In years two and three, Fellows take on the responsibility of leading their own classroom as the primary teacher, while still receiving ongoing support and mentorship.
Responsibilities:
Teaching (75%)
Assist lead teacher with instruction, classroom culture, and administrative duties
Under the supervision of your mentor teacher, gradually take on increasing classroom responsibilities as determined by classroom need and your individual performance
Apply new skills in other grades and subjects within your school community by serving as the substitute in a classroom when a teacher is absent
Internalize and teach developmentally appropriate content in a clear and concise manner to support student learning
Gather resources and prepare materials to ensure strong student engagement in lessons
Participate in regular meetings with your mentor teacher and school coach, grade level meetings, and school/district professional development
Work with small groups of students to provide targeted instruction during the day
Other duties as assigned : arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and subbing

Department Specific Job Functions
The graduate research position will assist and support the Enrollment and Student Success Testing Services staff by performing computer and customer service-related duties in an office setting. Duties such as proctoring high-stakes examinations, processing exam materials, making copies, answering phones, taking messages, typing letters, greeting visitors, data entry, filing, scanning documents, office errands, answering questions, assisting the reception area, providing customer service to students, faculty and staff. Responsibilities also include other duties as assigned.
Enrollment Requirements
Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student employee. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.
Summer Semester: Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes in order to work during the summer, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position.
Enrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources. The work requirements for this position include teaching during daytime and some evening hours depending upon the needs of the department and its students. Generally, classes are held in the Ann Lacy School of American Dance building on the OCU campus, however, some classes may be conducted remotely.
Requires dance professional capable of sustained physical activity and the ability to demonstrate required technique.
Requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting. Constantly requires speaking clearly, both seeing near, far and with depth perception.
Work may be carried out in performance spaces. In performance spaces, lighting levels vary from total darkness to full stage lighting.
Work in performance spaces requires the ability to move quickly from audience to stage areas which are at different levels. There is long exposure to theater and studio sound equipment volume levels.

About the Commitment
Teaching Fellows commit to a minimum of three years at Santa Fe South. During the first year, known as the residency year, Fellows train alongside a highly effective lead teacher in an anchor classroom to build their teaching skills and confidence. In years two and three, Fellows take on the responsibility of leading their own classroom as the primary teacher, while still receiving ongoing support and mentorship.

Enrollment Requirements
Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student employee. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.
Summer Semester: Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes in order to work during the summer, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position.
Enrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources.
