The ideal candidate will serve as a core faculty member in both the outpatient continuity clinic and the inpatient newborn nursery, contributing to the comprehensive education of Family Medicine residents and medical students. This role combines direct clinical teaching, scholarly engagement, and meaningful participation in residency program governance and development. The candidate is expected to maintain their own continuity patient panel and provide ongoing supervision in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. They will deliver didactic teaching during resident half-day education sessions and participate in structured academic activities that support resident development and program excellence.
Core responsibilities include:
Outpatient continuity clinic and urgent care teaching with residents and medical students, Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 17:00
Maintaining a personal panel of continuity patients
Supervising inpatient teaching rounds in the newborn nursery on a rotating basis every 4-5 weeks, Monday through Friday from 07:00 to 19:00
Participating in educational didactic half-days on Wednesdays from 13:00 to 17:00
Providing remote faculty supervision of residents for after-hours clinic call
Participating in the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC), which assesses resident progression and advancement
Participating in the Program Evaluation Committee (PEC), which oversees curriculum development and program improvement
Completing written and verbal evaluations of residents and medical students
Supervising residents on the mobile health unit
Engaging in scholarly activities, including but not limited to research, case reports, publications, and quality improvement projects in collaboration with residents and/or medical students
The candidate must be eligible for hospital credentialing to provide inpatient newborn care. Inpatient obstetrics coverage is not required. However, if desired, there may be opportunities for occasional coverage of the adult inpatient teaching service. In such cases, the candidate must also qualify for privileges in adult inpatient medicine.
Education and Experienced Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, with successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Family Medicine residency program, and possession of an unrestricted medical license issued by the Medical Board of California
Demonstrated experience in the comprehensive outpatient care of adults, geriatrics, children, and newborns, with recent and meaningful involvement in the teaching of residents and/or medical students
Clinical experience in the inpatient management of both adult and newborn patients.
Current board certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM)
Eligibility for privileges in full-spectrum outpatient primary care, as well as inpatient privileges in the care of newborns. If interested in adult inpatient care, the candidate must be eligible to obtain hospital privileges for adult inpatient medicine.
Inpatient obstetrics is not required.
Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Job Description
The Desert Research Institute (DRI; ************ in Reno, Nevada, in partnership with the Graduate Program at the University of NevadaReno (UNR), are actively recruiting a highly motivated PhD. student to work on a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded research project in the areas of light scattering, aerosol optical property characterization, and advanced instrumentation development. The selected candidate will join a dynamic interdisciplinary team based at the Desert Research Institute (DRI) in Reno, Nevada, and will be formally enrolled in the Department of Physics, an Engineering Department, or any other Department at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR).
Research Focus
The project will involve experimental (mostly) and theoretical and computational work with a focus on:
Aerosol optical characterization using advanced angularly resolved light scattering measurements using static, dynamic, and holography-based systems.
Development and enhancement of aerosol optical instrumentation, including multi-wavelength nephelometers, PM monitoring sensors, and lidar-based remote sensing tools.
Laboratory generation and optical characterization of bioaerosols (e.g., pollen, spores), mineral dust aerosols, and other particles relevant to defense system and atmospheric optics.
Data acquisition, signal processing, and integration with real-time particle sizing instruments.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in physics, computer engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to the Department of Physics, an Engineering Department, or any other Department at the University of Nevada, Reno. The student must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and must be continuously enrolled in at least 6 graduate level credits throughout the duration of the assistantship.
Demonstrate experience is desired in: Hands-on experience with laser-based experiments, optical instrumentation, and aerosol sampling systems is considered a plus. The CBESS Grant at the University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Spanish-English bilingual GraduateAssistant for the spring 2026 semester (through 1/30/28). Student will be working 10-20 hours a week (dependent on contract) on a STEM project titled Community of Bilingual English Spanish Speakers- Exploring issues in Science and Health (CBESS) funded by The National Institutes of Health (NIH). A highly motivated graduate student will assist with contacting CBESS students and their parents via email, telephone, and/or text to engage in interviews about the CBESS program, along with conducting school visits with the program coordinator to recruit participants. The individual will support the coordinator in updating recruitment materials, participant data tracking, and program implementation of events. As appropriate, the individual will complete ethical research training and help conduct semi-structured interviews with parents of CBESS students whose preferred language is Spanish and translate research instruments and data between Spanish and English. This position will be housed in the Latino Research Center and is a partnership between the center and the School of Medicine. Family Medicine Residency Program Faculty exemplify commitment to leadership in resident education and program administration to meet the goal of continuous program improvement. Working in tandem with and reporting to the Program Director (PD), faculty will support the PD in the organization, implementation, and supervision of the training program.
