JOB SUMMARY
Teaching Associates will teach CAL 2970 and CAL 3970. They will also support the Liberal Studies program at the CSUSB-PDC campus to organize educational activities with other departments, organizations and entities in the community.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Position involves all aspects of being the instructor of record for CAL 2970 and CAL 3970: preparing a syllabus and assignments, creating lessons and class activities, attending classes weekly for the duration of the semester, grading assignments, holding weekly office hours, and responding to student communication in a timely manner. Teaching Associates will also attend a pre-teaching orientation held before classes begin, typically in August each year.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be enrolled at CSUSB in a MA or EDD program degree in a field related to K-12 education or related to the interdisciplinary field of Liberal Arts.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Be enrolled in good standing as a classified graduate student in the M.A. or EDD program at CSUSB, or have been accepted to the program with a formal letter of acceptance in hand.
Maintain academic eligibility throughout the employment period (enrolled, with 3.5 GPA or higher).
Be available to teach courses at time assigned.
Accept responsibility and have the ability to relate well to others.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued. Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred and should be noted in application.

JOB SUMMARY
The Lab TeachingAssistant (TA) provides instructional support to faculty and students in a laboratory setting. The TA is responsible for assisting in the preparation, execution, and evaluation of laboratory sessions for undergraduate courses.
Working Conditions:

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Key Responsibilities:
1. Instructional Support:
• Conducting laboratory sessions, including demonstrating techniques and procedures.

JOB SUMMARY
CSUSB Geology Teaching Associates (TAs) may be responsible for one or more GEOL 1000L Introductory Geology Laboratory sections, or may support a faculty member in an upper division geology class. TAs teaching GEOL 1000L are solely responsible for their assigned section(s), including being present in person for all class meetings during the semester, being available for meetings with the laboratory coordinator and other teachingassistants, maintaining the shared lab space including cleaning up after assigned lab sections, assessing student work, and meeting with students outside of class during regularly scheduled office hours. TAs supporting an upper division geology class will work with the faculty member teaching the class to determine the TA responsibilities.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
GEOL 1000L TAs work with the laboratory coordinator to teach the labs using the CSUSB Geology GEOL 1000L Laboratory Manual, following the schedule determined by the lab coordinator. GEOL 1000L class meetings are 2 hours and forty-five minutes once a week and include topics such as topographic maps, mineral and rock identification, structural geology, geologic hazards, plate tectonics, and a field trip to the San Andreas Fault. GEOL 1000L TAs are expected to be present in person for all class meetings during the semester, attend meetings with the laboratory coordinator and other teachingassistants, maintain the shared lab space including cleaning up after assigned lab sections, assess student work, and be available to students outside of class during regularly scheduled office hours as well as over email and by appointment. TAs are expected to use Canvas or other learning management software supported by CSUSB.
TAs supporting an upper division geology class will work with the faculty member teaching the class to determine the TA responsibilities which may include supporting in-class activities, field trips, laboratory activities, grading, and other teaching-related tasks.

Teaching Associate will teach one or more 2-unit lab section.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
This position involves preparing a syllabus and assignments, creating lessons and class activities, attending class weekly for the duration of the semester, grading assignments, holding weekly office hours, and responding to student communication in a timely manner. Teaching Associates will also work closely with the full-time faculty members teaching the 3-unit lecture portion of the class to make sure the lecture and lab coincide.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Be enrolled in good standing as a classified graduate studen of the graduate program for CAFS.
Maintain academic eligibility throughout the employment period (enrolled, with 3.0 GPA or higher).
Be available to teach courses at time assigned.
Attend pre-teaching course planning sessions during the day the week before classes begin in Fall. Specific dates and times TBA.
Accept responsibility and have the ability to relate well to others.
