Position SummaryThe TeachingAssistant at the Children's Community School (CCS) provides support to help further implement our school's academic strategy for our 138 individual students from 1st through Grade 8. Children's Community School, through the assistance of Post University would welcome University Students who are majoring in Education or a related field who can assist our school in offering each child greater success in their studies and solidifying their forward trajectory.
Each assistant can not only help meet the needs outlined by the primary teacher, tutor, or counselor for the student but also bring to each session their own capabilities such as astronomy, computer programming, science, mathematics, reading and writing or other personal strengths. Assistants will work closely with Reading Tutor's to provide tutoring services to elementary school-age students. Post Work Study Program participants are welcomed to bring with their energy, an observer's viewpoint, and share a distinct academic specialty and outlook.

What you'll do at DDI
Assist the teacher in directly implementing IEP's.
Collect student behavior and performance data as directed by the teacher.
Assist in conducting basic instructional activities and in helping with the safety and supervision of students.
Accept assignments in varying classes, in accordance with the need of the program to provide proper ratio in class groupings.
Supervise the Substitute TeacherAssistant in the Teacher's absence.
Assist in student arrival from the busses and dismissal to the busses.
Accompany assigned students if they leave the building for programmatic or emergency reasons.
Be familiar and act in accordance with all policies contained in the Children's Day Services Handbook for Staff.
Participate in performance reviews/discussions.
