General Summary
A full-time seasonal position reporting to the Summer Camp Director, the Teacher's Assistant works as a member of a classroom team consisting of the language immersion teacher, teacher's aide, and floating aide. The Teacher's Assistant is an integral part of the campers' day and the teacher's success. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting Lead teachers in supervising campers in the classroom, on the playground, on field trips, and with specialist teachers; communicating with families and camp director; assisting with special events; and supporting the Lead teacher by enforcing class rules, helping distribute materials, and assisting with teaching, when appropriate.

2. POSITION SUMMARY
Teachingassistants (TAs) in the doctor of chiropractic program (DCP) assist faculty in providing lab instruction and/or remediation in a variety of courses. Teachingassistants may also monitor and engage in open laboratory or review sessions. Subject areas may include, but are not limited to, biomechanics, palpation, adjustive technique, physical therapy, rehabilitation, history taking, communication skills, physical exam, orthopedic testing, case management, report of findings, taping/splinting, minor surgery, and report writing.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Observe, assist, demonstrate and offer constructive feedback to students in clinical skills development instructional lab sessions.

Contributes to classroom and clinical instruction in collaboration with and under the direction of the primary instructor/program director and the Dean of Nursing. Provides high quality instruction and engagement with students in the clinical and/or lab settings in order to assist them in meeting course outcomes. Collaborate with the Dean and primary instructor to determine student progression.
Essential Duties
* Assists the primary instructor in organizing and preparing the lab area for instruction.
* Instructs smaller cohorts of students and supervises clinical experiences in long-term care settings. Creates a learning environment for students inclusive of diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds, and engages with students to provide a meaningful presence in their clinical learning and in their achievement of course outcomes.
* Demonstrates required skills to students, and assists students in practicing skills using a standard skills checklist.
* Assists the primary instructor in organizing final return-demonstration of skills
* Records student demonstrated proficiency with skills.
* Evaluates student performance in nursing lab and/or clinical, using approved program student evaluation tools.
* Communicates students' clinical and lab progress, concerns, and absences to the primary instructor, nurse administrator, or dean as appropriate.
* Completes instructional duties, reports, and paperwork assigned.
* Keeps professionally current by participating in professional development and other activities.

* Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Current unencumbered registered nurse (RN) license or practical nurse license (LPN) in the State of Oregon, or a current unencumbered RN or LPN license in another state and ability to be licensed in the State of Oregon prior hire date and maintained throughout employment
Experience/Training:
* Minimum (1) year of experience as a licensed nurse
* Current driver's license, insurance, and the ability to be insured by the college's insurance carrier. Must have at least three (3) years of driving history
* Current Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card prior to hire date and maintain throughout employment
* Documentation of immunizations prior to hire date and maintain as required throughout employment
Desired Qualifications
* Experience with teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse student
* populations
* Experience in a long-term care nursing setting
Additional Requirements:
* Must be able to work flexible hours with some weekends and/or evenings
* Must submit a drug screen upon hire
* Submission of a background check in addition to the College's standard check may be required based on clinical site
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
* Knowledge of nursing skills and the role of the scope of practice for a Licensed Practical Nurse
* Knowledge of methods of assessment and evaluation of student's nursing skills and care of client in a clinical setting.
* Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and economically

* Ability to work independently in handling multiple tasks, priorities and changing deadlines
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Salary Placement
Initial salary placement for Instructional Load Credit (ILC) Instructors will be based on applicable education and/or years of relevant full-time equivalent experience at the sole discretion of the College, per the guidelines in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws. Initial salary placement for all other newly hired instructors will be at Level 1.

Position Summary
The Ballmer Institute seeks a pool of applicants interested in Pro Tem Lecturer positions to teach primarily graduate courses (although some undergraduate courses may be available, too). Positions are temporary, intermittent, or of limited duration; not to exceed one year. In limited circumstances, there may be a possibility of renewal up to three years depending on programmatic need, funding, and performance.
There is an immediate need for a lecturer in the following terms:
Winter Term: undergraduate Prevention and Intervention course delivered in person, Portland Oregon
Spring Term: graduate Trauma-Informed Supports course delivered virtually in the evenings
Other needs may arise throughout the year.
