Our program is seeking a graduate assistant interested in training students how to lead various prevention initiatives, promote community responsibility, and offer support services to victims of sexual and interpersonal violence. As a graduate assistant for the program, you would assist the Violence Prevention and Response Program coordinator in training students in the peer education program. Peer educator training will include a 30-hour course spread over two semesters. Graduate assistants should expect to be present for all 30 hours of the training. This education-focused role entails working collaboratively with the Women's & Gender Center, Wellness Center, Title IX, and other on-campus and off-campus community resources. The graduate student should be comfortable developing and facilitating in-person and virtual educational programming and enjoy working in a student-focused team environment. Students are expected to work 20 hours per week. Responsibilities of the Violence Prevention & Response Program Graduate Assistant: Assist with triaging students' needs and connecting them with needed resources. Assist in facilitating in-person and virtual training sessions for students involved in the peer education program. Some weekend hours are required. Assist in providing presentations and activities. · Assist in promoting the peer education program. · All other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: · Eligible applicants must be enrolled as full-time graduate students in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, and other related fields. · Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and respect for others' privacy. · Strong written and verbal communication and outstanding interpersonal skills. · Excellent decision-making and time-management skills. · Strong ability to work with and contribute to a team environment. · Experience using Microsoft Office programs and social media management platforms. Preferred Qualifications: Students seeking degrees in Social Work are preferred. Applicants with previous public speaking, presentation experience, or advocacy training will be given priority.
