The Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (KansasCOM), one of the nation's newest medical schools, located in downtown Wichita, Kansas, invites applications for a faculty appointment in the Department of Integrated Biomedical Sciences. Qualified applicants with experience in teaching medical students and dedicated to teaching anatomy to medical students are sought for an open rank faculty position. This position has no associated clinical duties.
The College's mission is “to train the osteopathic physician of the future to provide effective, empathic, and innovative care to optimize the health of patients and their communities.” This includes the goal of expanding health education and healthcare by increasing the number of physicians trained in Kansas, with particular focus on serving the widely distributed communities of rural Kansas, and beyond. KansasCOM's inaugural class of students (Class of 2026) matriculated in August, 2022. The College has implemented a systems-based curriculum that integrates disciplines, and incorporates interactive methodologies and an androgogical teaching philosophy. The College aspires to promote student learning in a way that values people's differences and provides an inclusive environment, such that students are enthusiastic about providing patient-centered, evidence-based care of the highest quality.
The successful candidate must possess a terminal degree (PhD, MD, DO, or other), in anatomy or a related discipline, and should have demonstrated experience in teaching these subjects. This position will function as a member of a collaborative educational team which develops and delivers the anatomy content across an integrated, educational program. Primary responsibilities will involve teaching medical students, through the integrated, systems-based curriculum of the 1st and 2nd academic years, and will involve the development of discipline-based, collaboratively designed, and highly integrated curricular elements. A demonstrated ability to work within a team of medical educators from basic science and clinical disciplines to develop integrated instructional materials and presentations is a must. Additional teaching and mentoring responsibilities may exist in the 3rd and 4th years, and will focus on the application of foundational science knowledge to senior medical students seeking advanced experience.
While teaching is the primary focus of our faculty, service, scholarship and research are fundamental elements of a faculty role. Service to the College and the community is an essential function of the position, including committee service, faculty development, student mentoring/advising, interviewing prospective students, and community outreach. The College is strengthening its scholarly activity involvement, broadly defined as including: basic science (bench), translational, clinical, educational, public health/epidemiologic, or other scholarly endeavor.
The successful candidate must possess a terminal degree (PhD, MD, DO, MBBS, or other), in anatomy or a related discipline, and should have demonstrated experience in teaching these subjects.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in teaching anatomy, primarily within the pre-clinical curriculum;
Develop and prepare teaching materials (presentations, lectures, exam items, etc.).
Develop and maintain educational materials, including correlations to Osteopathic Principles and Practice.
Demonstrate professionalism as defined by the KansasCOM declaration of faculty professionalism and responsibility.
Serve as a student advisor and mentor, including promoting and mentoring student research.
Participate in prospective student interviewing.
Serve on selected departmental, college, and faculty committees and task forces.
Participate in and deliver professional development for KansasCOM.
Assist in accreditation, assessment, and quality improvement functions to include document creation, data collection and management, education of faculty as assigned.
Foster a positive culture amongst the students, faculty, and KHSU-KansasCOM staff.
Participate in professional activities, societies, and associations, enhancing personal and institutional recognition and standing.
Serve as requested/assigned, in academic leadership roles (Course Director, etc.)
Perform other related duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATION(S):
A terminal degree (PhD, DSc, DO, MD, etc.) in anatomy or a relevant related field from an accredited institution of higher education with appropriate experience for an Assistant Professor (or higher) position
A track record of academic experience in biomedical sciences education (medical school experience preferred).
Preference that applicant be qualified to work in the United States without sponsorship, however, the College will consider immigration sponsorship for highly qualified candidates.
Maintain appropriate licensure for practice in health care and be in good standing with all regulatory and licensing boards and agencies, as applicable.
Evidence of skills in technology applied to classroom work.
Demonstrated evidence and/or a plan for supporting students from diverse backgrounds in the academic community.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Postdoctoral experience in the field of anatomy.

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Campus

Job Summary
A Graduate Staff Assistant (GSA) assistants university service and academic units in either non-teaching or non-research activities. Specific duties of the GSA vary widely, depending on the administrative or academic unit to which they are assigned, but should be at a level to make use of their education and abilities.
Job Duties
1. Content Creation: Assist in developing engaging content for various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, website, promotional materials, and more.
2. Photography and Video Production: Assist in attending events or planned photoshoots to capture photos and video content. Basic photo and video editing.
3. Social Media Management: Contribute to the planning and execution of social media campaigns to increase brand awareness, engagement, and followership across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
4. Graphic Design: Create visually appealing graphics, infographics, and other design assets to support marketing campaigns and communication materials.

8. Market Research: Conduct research to identify trends, competitors, and opportunities in the higher education landscape, informing marketing strategies and decision-making.
9. Analytics and Reporting: Assist in tracking and analyzing the performance of initiatives via social media analytics and email marketing platforms. Prepare regular reports with key insights and recommendations for optimization.
10. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Communications and Marketing team, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, and responding to inquiries.

The Athletic Performance GraduateAssistantship is designed to provide a learning experience for those interested in pursuing a career in athletic performance. This person will assist with developing and implementing conditioning and training programs that maximize athletic performance. Working nights, weekends, and holidays is an essential function of this position.

This position is responsible for cultivating and maintaining the institution's Catholic identity and its mission to empower graduates to transform society. As a member of the Newman community, the staff member will join with the institution's sponsors, the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (ASC Sisters), to witness God's love in Mission to empower others, foster oneness, celebrate life, form right relationships, and walk as compassionate companions. Additionally, this position contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other faiths, cultures, or backgrounds.
Work Performed:
Schedule and conduct regular strength and conditioning sessions with student-athletes to ensure student-athletes are physically prepared for competition.
Collaborate with the Head Coaches to develop strategies to motivate maximum level of individual and team athletic performance and appropriate personal and social conduct within the mission of Newman University.
Assist with the day-to-day cleaning, maintenance, and operation of the Fitness Center/Weight Room.
Enforce weight room, Newman athletic department, and NCAA rules/policies at all times.
Participate in educational projects and assignments.
Assist with game-day operations as needed.
Conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of and ability to comply with all NCAA Division II, MIAA Conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
Complete University-required trainings, including FERPA and Title IX.
Contribute to the overall success of the Athletics department by performing all other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position.
Required Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills/Training:
Bachelor's degree required.
Must be accepted and enrolled full time (at least six (6) credit hours per semester) in a Master's degree program during the academic year (fall and spring semester).
Previous experience in a college athletic setting.
Genuine interest in and willingness to work with students; understanding of student attitudes, concerns and problems.
Ability to work evenings and weekends, as necessary.
Certified through a nationally recognized strength and conditioning program, preferred.
AED and/or CPR training preferred.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation:
This is a 12-month position with a contract that requires annual renewal.
Monthly stipend of $250.00 throughout the yearly contract.
University housing is not provided for GraduateAssistants; however, they may coordinate with the Director of Residence Life to explore availability if housing is not at full capacity.
GraduateAssistants will be provided with the 120-day meal plan option, which may be subject to tax implications. Meals are available only when the dining hall is open for traditional students.
Eligible for fall, spring, and summer tuition waiver. The student is responsible for payment of books, general fees, parking, and living expenses. Must follow tuition waiver policy and submittal deadlines.
Additional Information:
GraduateAssistant for Athletics Communications may not hold other full-time employment. Other part-time employment in or outside the University must receive prior approval from the Director of Athletics.
Tuition remission scholarships are dependent upon enrollment in the course(s) by regular, tuition-paying students. The university reserves the right to move classes from the face-to-face modality to the online modality in order to ensure a reasonable minimum class size is met, at the sole discretion of the university. Tuition remission scholarships do not guarantee that any course will be available in any given modality, depending upon enrollment. If space is limited in any class, persons using any tuition benefit scholarships may be enrolled in the order in which they registered for the class.
As a condition for retention in the role, the GraduateAssistant must remain in good academic standing, which is a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
