The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT A or EMT I) for our Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) department partners with an Advanced Practice Provider of a Grady EMS Division. The MIH team travels in a SUV that is fully equipped as an EMS Medical First Responder unit and point of-care testing. They are scheduled for home visits of recently discharged patients (high risk readmission), OB (HTN), ED high users. The goal of this program is to reduce readmission within 30-days post discharge and decrease the patient's dependence on the 911 system/ED by coordinating care and point of care needs with prospective outpatient services. QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or GED required. * State of Georgia Advanced EMT (AEMT) or EMT-I (Intermediate) certification is required. * Maintain current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). * Must have a valid Driver's License and maintain an acceptable MVR according to departmental standards once employed. Must be insurable by the departmental provider at the standard rate. * Must demonstrate knowledge of basic life support protocols, principles of emergency ambulance operations and current hospital principles as defined by national, state and regional standards. In collaboration with successful candidates, physician schedules are carefully composed to optimize work-life balance and prioritize long-term personal and division success. We have several template schedules within the department with multiple possible daily work arrangement based on candidate preference, including standard weekly assignment, 1 week on 1 week off schedule, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off schedule, 26 weeks on 26 weeks off schedule consisting of 8am-5pm weekday shifts and 7am-4pm shifts on the weekends/holidays, and additional flexible arrangements. The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center is a national leader among childhood cancer, hematology, and bone marrow transplant programs. Aflac Psychology is a valued Section of the Center with 11 faculty psychologists and neuropsychologists, two psychometrists, up to three postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students who engage in patient care and clinical research in the areas of pediatric, adolescent, and young adult psycho-oncology and -hematology. **About the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center** The hired neuropsychologist will join one of the strongest pediatric hematology/oncology programs in the country. - Our oncology program cares for more than 500 new cancer cases per year. We represent the pediatric arm of Emory's NCI-designated Winship Cancer Center. - We have the largest pediatric hematology program in the country (including 2000 active patients with sickle cell disease) and one of the four largest pediatric oncology programs in the country. - Our blood and marrow transplantation program performs an average of 80 transplants annually. - Children's Healthcare of Atlanta-the only tertiary pediatric center in the dynamic metropolitan Atlanta area-serves a population of nearly 6 million people, providing a strong basis for clinical programs in rare disorders. The neuropsychologist will join a multidisciplinary team that includes pediatric neuropsychology, pediatric psychology, hematology and oncology providers, as well as advance practice providers, social workers, child life specialists, and hospital-based teachers. This is a primarily clinical position with up to 80% time dedicated to patient care. Candidates with a strong record of scholarship and extramural grant funding may be eligible for an additional 20% time dedicated to research or a reduction in clinical responsibilities if successful in securing grant funding to cover clinical effort. Clinical responsibilities include the coordination and provision of comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to outpatients with hematology and oncology needs, pre- and post-treatment screenings, brief targeted screenings, and (limited) inpatient evaluations. Full psychometry support is provided. Opportunities for program development are also available, and clinical responsibilities will include developing disease-specific screening clinics. Available training opportunities include the supervision of pediatric neuropsychology and psychology fellows and doctoral students from local universities. Research responsibilities center on the coordination of neuropsychological and psychological data that are part of collaborative group (e.g., COG, PBTC, PBMTC, etc.) trials. Candidates ideally will integrate in the division focusing predominantly on chest imaging, including chest X-rays, oncologic chest CT studies, lung cancer screening studies. Interstitial lung disease cases are also available to candidates who have interest. Candidates may choose to focus predominantly on thoracic imaging or have a mixed practice with abdominal or multispecialty imaging. Our department is in a growth phase currently providing on-site and remote interpretive services for 8 hospitals and multiple outpatient imaging centers that compose the radiology practices of Emory Healthcare and the Grady Health System.The Division is strongly oriented toward innovation with several Artificial Intelligence tools available to support the daily practice and operation. In collaboration with successful candidates, physician schedules are carefully composed to optimize work-life balance and prioritize long-term personal and division success. We have several template schedules within the department including a 26 weeks on 26 weeks off schedule consisting of 8am-5pm weekday shifts and 7am-4pm shifts on the weekends/holidays. This equates to 182 shifts of clinical duty per year. We have additional schedules which can involve evening work and multispecialty imaging if this is an interest for the candidate. Candidates may decide to participate in both clinical and non-clinical divisional activities, including teaching and trainee supervision. State-of-the-art clinical equipment is present across the enterprise.
