ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Responds to inquiries from agencies, parents and/or guardians regarding student progress, goals, lessons, etc.

* Attends conferences and workshops to keep abreast of professional trends, developments and techniques.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Requires a bachelor's or masters in special education or a related field.
* Requires valid Virginia teaching license or eligibility for conditional license.

Essential Job Functions
Under general supervision, the Behavior Specialist/Behavior Technician is responsible for direct delivery of behavioral services to children and families/caregivers. This position maintains accurate record keeping of case notes and communicates with supervising Board-Certified Behavior Analyst about the program and the progress of the treatment plan for individuals served. The position will utilize the strategies and principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to manage a caseload of clients and work with their families by providing services in family homes or other appropriate settings. Reports to a Clinical Administrator or a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
* Works under the supervision of a BCBA to collaboratively establish and/or implement a treatment plan based on a functional assessment.
* Provide direct delivery of the behavioral services to the children and families by implementing goals and objectives to ensure safety and engagement in appropriate instructional, leisure, and daily living activities within a natural environment and under the supervision of a BCBA.
* May prepare written assessments, assessing service recipients from multiple perspectives, including family functioning, social, academic, and behavioral, skills, strengths, barriers self-sufficiency, treatment history, and others, and utilizing various assessment instruments as appropriate.
* Implement language and academic programs by collecting individual progress data, maintaining program books, and creating teaching materials.
* Document case activities or other required daily documentation for both data analysis and billing purposes in a timely manner.
* Schedule and keep scheduled appointments to support family with implementing behavior intervention in home and schedule and keep supervision meetings with BCBA for supervision and as needed.
* Discuss treatment progress, supports family in implementing in-home behavior strategies that support the treatment plan, and responds to parents and/ or guardians regarding operations, events, incidents, etc.
* Attends job specific conferences and/or training as scheduled, and assists in the trainings and mentoring of new staff

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
* Must be 21 years of age

Direct Support Professional - Adult Service Community Living Coach The Direct Support Professional - Adult program, participates in the direct care and plan implementation for clients, as prescribed by physician and treatment teams. They provide supervision, safety and crisis management for the client population; complete documentation of client behavior and participation in programming; adhere to the scheduled activities; role model positive, mature behavior; utilize proactive behavioral strategies to minimize client crisis and maximize success.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Ensures the health, safety and wellness of Clients
* Supports client health and hygiene and utilizes infection control procedures.
* Reports serious incidents, participates in reviews and implements follow-up measures, as applicable.
* Follows and administers the individual plan for clients to include understanding of SNAP (strengths, needs, abilities and preferences), goals/objectives/outcomes and treatment strategies from the current Plans (Treatment Plan, IEP, ISP) of assigned clients.
* Collaborates with the Treatment Team to provide continuity of support and care, by communicating and contributing to team discussions and decisions
* Promotes clients' achievement of behavioral goals by implementing the behavior strategies and teaching alternative behaviors, as indicated in the Treatment Plan/IEP/ISP.
* Actively instructs assigned clients so they can achieve education/residential goals and objectives or ID Waiver outcomes.
* Collects and documents behavioral and instructional data, accurately and reliably. Documents services delivered accurately and in a timely manner.
* Maintains a high level of engagement with and monitoring of clients. Implements planned activities throughout the workday.
* Provides a supportive and solution-Focused Environment through building trust, respect, and good relationships with clients
* Manages behavioral crisis safely.
* Oversees site management to include housekeeping, nutrition, and transportation.
