    The Behavior Specialist/Behavior Technician is responsible for direct delivery of behavioral services to children and families/caregivers. This position maintains accurate record keeping of case notes and communicates with supervising Board-Certified Behavior Analyst about the program and the progress of the treatment plan for individuals served. The position will utilize the strategies and principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to manage a caseload of clients and work with their families by providing services in family homes or other appropriate settings. Reports to a Clinical Administrator or a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Works under the supervision of a BCBA to collaboratively establish and/or implement a treatment plan based on a functional assessment. * Provide direct delivery of the behavioral services to the children and families by implementing goals and objectives to ensure safety and engagement in appropriate instructional, leisure, and daily living activities within a natural environment and under the supervision of a BCBA. * May prepare written assessments, assessing service recipients from multiple perspectives, including family functioning, social, academic, and behavioral, skills, strengths, barriers self-sufficiency, treatment history, and others, and utilizing various assessment instruments as appropriate. * Implement language and academic programs by collecting individual progress data, maintaining program books, and creating teaching materials. * Document case activities or other required daily documentation for both data analysis and billing purposes in a timely manner. * Schedule and keep scheduled appointments to support family with implementing behavior intervention in home and schedule and keep supervision meetings with BCBA for supervision and as needed. * Discuss treatment progress, supports family in implementing in-home behavior strategies that support the treatment plan, and responds to parents and/ or guardians regarding operations, events, incidents, etc. * Attends job specific conferences and/or training as scheduled, and assists in the trainings and mentoring of new staff * Communicate effectively about all ideas, successes or concerns * Performs other duties as assigned MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE * Must be 19 years of age * A valid, acceptable driver's license * Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required * Any applicant who is not RBT certified at hire will be given 6 months to obtain certification * Bachelor's degree in psychology, human services or a related field OR * Associates degree and 3 months experience working with children required OR * High school diploma and 6 months experience working with children required * Prior experience working with children with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities preferred * Experience in writing Positive Behavior Support plans and in designing and evaluating behavioral interventions preferred * Effective oral and written communication skills and outstanding social skills * Solid reporting skills and impartial assessment skills are essential * Requires Ukeru certification COMPENSATION * $21.38-$28.04/hr. based on experience SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY * Between 7:00AM-6:00PM EMPLOYEE BENEFITS * Medical, dental and vision * Flexible Spending & Health Savings Accounts * 401(k), including an employer match * Generous Paid Time Off plan * Education Assistance * Life Insurance * Employee Assistance Program (EAP) * Short-term disability (STD) * Long-term disability (LTD) * As Grafton is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, you may be eligible for federal student loan forgiveness If you have issues applying or have any questions about this position, please reach out to us at ************** or ************ Ext. 6429. Essential Job Functions: * Health, Safety and Wellness of Clients * Ensures medications are delivered accurately and on time. * Provides for the well-being and safety of clients. * Supports client health and hygiene. * Utilizes infection control procedures. * Reports serious incidents, participates in reviews and implements follow-up measures, as applicable. * Individual Plan Implementation * Knows the SNAP (strengths, needs, abilities and preferences), goals/objectives/outcomes and treatment strategies from the current Plans (Treatment Plan, IEP, ISP) of assigned clients. * Promotes clients' achievement of behavioral goals by implementing the behavior strategies and teaching alternative behaviors, as indicated in the Treatment Plan/IEP/ISP. * Actively instructs assigned clients so they can achieve education/residential goals and objectives or ID Waiver outcomes. * Collects and documents behavioral and instructional data, accurately and reliably. * Documents services delivered accurately and in a timely manner. * Maintains a high level of engagement with and monitoring of clients. Implements planned activities throughout the workday. * Provides a Supportive and Solution-Focused Environment * Builds trusting, respectful relationships with clients and helps clients do the same. * Demonstrates knowledge about the symptoms and supports associated with diagnoses of assigned clients and a trauma-informed care approach. * Manages behavioral crisis safely. * Collaborates with the Treatment Team to provide continuity of support and care, by communicating and contributing to team discussions and decisions. * Exhibits exemplary customer service with guardians, agency personnel and visitors. * Site Management - Housekeeping, Nutrition, Transportation, Finances * Ensures a safe residence / classroom environment. * Assures a clean and organized residence/classroom. * Promotes good nutrition and, in group homes, assists with meal preparation. * Provides transportation / community mobility. * Assists with purchases and is accountable for program and client money, as applicable. * Teamwork and commitment to the mission, values and vision of Grafton * Demonstrates knowledge of organization. * Demonstrates the core values of personal integrity and accountability. * Performs other duties, as assigned.
