GW Community School Program in conjunction with Graham Windham Mental Health Program is seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician to work in our school based program working with families, children in grades K-5, and working closely with the school staff. The school is part of the Community School Renewal project and will include being part of a dynamic team comprised of the Director of Programs, a Family Coordinator, School Social Worker, as well as working closely with the school staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct screenings, outreach, intakes, individual, group and family therapy.
• Provide push ins and collaborative work with teachers, school based support staff, students and families
• Provide evidenced based treatment including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT).
• Respond to student and family crisis and provide de-escalation and supports
• Proactively work with school staff and faculty to case finding, monitoring, communication
• Facilitate professional development opportunities to school faculty and partners
• Complete documentation, progress notes and quarterly treatment plans in concurrently with clients and in accordance with OMH regulations.
• Complete all responsibilities related to timely billing on a daily basis.
• Perform off-site services where indicated, including home visits and hospitals
• Co- facilitate Student Support group meetings

Physical Sensory Requirements:

Job Functions:
Provide individual, group, family, and collateral treatment and crisis services/interventions that are focused and goal oriented. Offer information and counseling on the best course of action during sessions.
Apply the appropriate evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, to assess, monitor and ameliorate symptoms; to minimize the negative effects of trauma symptoms, behaviors and environmental stressors.

The Family Treatment/ Rehabilitation Program (FTR) located both in Manhattan and Brooklyn offers intensive preventive case management services to families at risk of removal of children to foster care due to neglect and abuse. Risk factors for families served by the FTR program are sometimes advanced as a result of caretakers' drug use and/ or mental illness. The stressors of poverty, substance use, instability and criminal justice involvement, parental depression, family stress, substance use or domestic violence can greatly compromise a parent's capacity to care for her children, despite strong desires to be engaged. Using Solution Based Casework, we actively work with parents to help them develop a more active, consistent and productive role in their child's educational and social development; we encourage families to build connections to positive supports in their community who will help them sustain their progress. Position Overview:
The Licensed Clinician will provide clinical assessments of client disorders and use an eclectic approach of engagement and service delivery. The clinician will also support the case planning staff in the implementation of case specific goals of families; will be part of a multi-method program and has a consistent strong approach to partnering with families to promote the safety and wellbeing of all children; ensure that our families and staff have access to high-quality resources to meet their needs.

The Socio Therapist Role
The Socio Therapist assists and supports the Caseworker in providing services for children and families in the Enhanced Family Foster Care Program. About the Residential Treatment Center (RTC) Program
The Residential Treatment Center serves adolescents placed through the Child Welfare, School and Juvenile Justice systems. At the RTC, Residents face a variety of interpersonal, family and mental health issues and many have histories of trauma or complex trauma due to their life circumstances. All staff members are trained in the use of Collaborative Problem Solving; an evidenced-based, and trauma-informed practice of working with youth and families aimed at jointly solving problems and developing durable interpersonal skills. Through this interdisciplinary treatment approach, youth are supported to grow and thrive, placing them on a trajectory of continuing to overcome difficult challenges that they may face.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
· Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of youth
· Provide individual, group and collateral family therapy and crisis intervention support, as appropriate
· Complete progress notes and written documentation per program and regulatory guidelines
· Actively and engage participants in the RTC milieu program and community
· Refer and coordinate clients to receive additional or specialized services
· Participate in trainings and professional development opportunities provided
Minimum Qualifications
· LCSW, LMSW, LMHC or LMFT (or limited permit) with a minimum of 1 year of experience providing direct services in a mental health treatment or child welfare setting
· Utilize trauma-informed and evidenced-based modalities such as Solution Based Casework, Collaborative Problem Solving, and other related clinical based interventions
· Possess valid NY State Driver's license, free of significant infractions
· Previous experience with behavior-based modalities (CBT/TF-CBT, DBT), Motivational Interviewing, play/creative arts/narrative therapy, etc. a plus.

About the Program
Graham Windham's Intensive Prevention Program combines the Solution-Based Casework (SBC) method and the evidence-based Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) modality to promote child safety and well-being, reduce risks to children and youth, and prevent foster care placement.
About the Position
The Prevention Brief Strategic Family Therapist works as part of a prevention team to promote child safety and well-being, reduce risks to children and youth, and prevent foster care placement. This intervention employs a team approach between the therapist, a case planner, the program supervisor and the model developer to engage the entire family into the intervention, while simultaneously remaining attuned to environmental and familial safety and risk issues. Program will offer 8 clinical hours.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Develops and maintains therapeutic relationships with all family members.
2. Continuously assess for safety and risk issues.
3. Conducts weekly sessions with the entire family using Brief Strategic Family Therapy, predominantly in the home.
4. Provides services to a caseload of 10 families.
5. Strives to engage all family members and stakeholders in the family level treatment.
6. Participates in all aspects of the BSFT implementation including training, individual and weekly supervision, video and audio-taping sessions, and participating in evaluations of their competency.
7. Become certified in Solutions Based Casework within the first year of their employment, consistent with the agency's focus on implementing this model across all child welfare serving programs.
8. Submit all required documentation both ACS and BSFT in a timely fashion.
9. Using investigatory and social work skills, they engage and partner with families and community resources to ensure the safety and well-being of children
10. Complete family visits to conduct casework contacts and BSFT sessions
11. Engage in a strength based approach with families in order to assess their individual and collective strengths and needs
12. Interview family members and others who interact with the family to assess child safety and well-being
13. Assess the risk of future abuse or neglect of children in the family
14. If a safety concern arises, develop a safety plan with family members
15. Coordinate a team of family members, staff and service providers to evaluate safety and identify interventions that can reduce risks to children
16. Enter and maintain accurate and timely computerized records of all case information
17. Help families navigate government agencies and access entitlement benefits
Qualifications
· Master's Degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy or mental health counseling
· A minimum of two years and maximum of five years postgraduate clinical experience preferred.
· Strong interest in family systems work
Full-time position: starting salary at $65,000/annually.
