Stu West is the CFO at Grammarly, the world’s most comprehensive AI-powered communication assistant. Previously, West spent eight years as CFO and SVP of Operations at Automattic, the company behind the web’s most popular publishing platform. WordPress.com. Before Automattic, West served as an ​executive in residence at the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. Before that, West was the CFO for Kno, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based company that is creating a dynamic learning platform specifically for students. Before joining Kno, West served as Chief Strategy Officer for InfoSpace, Inc. Before InfoSpace, as a Vice President at Yahoo! Inc., West drove business operations across Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo.com. Before Yahoo!, West spent six years at TiVo Inc. most recently as Acting Chief Financial Officer, where he raised more than $250 million in eight financings, including public stock and debt offerings during revenue growth from $4 million to $260 million. West also spent seven years in investment banking at J.P. Morgan & Co. and worked for the U.S. State Department at the United Nations. He has a B.A. from Yale University and lives in the San Francisco bay area. In 2017, West was named the Bay Area Emerging Company CFO of the Year. From 2008 to 2015, he was a board member and trustee of the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit which runs Wikipedia.
