Each intern will have the opportunity to work with a group of biostatisticians and renowned clinical investigators to answer important questions impacting patient outcomes in cardiopulmonary resuscitation research. Interns will gain experience working in a multidisciplinary team, performing statistical programming ( SAS or R), and communicating analysis results in both oral and written form. The internships will begin early in Summer 2026, working 20 hours/week throughout the summer and then cutting back to 10 hours/week when fall semester begins. Total duration of internship is six months. Interns may choose to work remotely or at the office in beautiful Research Park (303 Chipeta Way, Salt Lake City). Prepare and communicate study results in oral and written summary (e.g., tables, figures and reports), with direction from study biostatistics team as needed. Review data for discrepancies and work with the study team to resolve discrepancies. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education); one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. The Research Development Associate will be responsible for implementing a large weekly survey to US Veterans as part of a groundbreaking research project. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to knowledge on the Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID ( PASC ), also called Long COVID . The weekly surveys will provide self-report information from Veterans on how Long COVID symptoms change over time, what types of medical treatments and self-care they are receiving, and how they are coping with this multi-symptom illness. This is a part-time position in the Division of Epidemiology, Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of Utah School of Medicine. This position will support a study at the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. The Research Associate will report to Sara J Knight, PhD, Study Multiple Principal Investigator. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience. In this role, the Research Development Associate will work closely with one of the project Multiple Principal Investigators responsible for the survey and interview studies. During onboarding, this position requires training specific to VA research, human research participant compliance activities, and other regulatory requirements. Collaborates with researchers and other partners such as Veterans and Clinicians to interpret survey results and make recommendations. 8. Collaborates in the preparation of reports, presentations, and publications based on survey findings. 9. Stay current with developments in survey research methodology and best practices.
