GCU Esports is seeking an experienced and energetic Student Worker DJ to provide live music and atmosphere for weekly Wednesday night esports competitions and special events. This role is critical in creating an exciting, professional, and engaging game-day environment for players, spectators, and staff. Key Responsibilities: The Student Worker DJ will perform live DJ sets during Wednesday night GCU Esports events, curating music that matches the energy and pacing of competitive gameplay. They will set up, operate, and break down their own DJ equipment before and after each event, ensuring all audio runs smoothly throughout the night. The DJ will coordinate with esports staff and production teams to align music timing with match schedules, walk-ins, breaks, and hype moments, while maintaining appropriate volume levels and content suitable for a campus environment. Professionalism, punctuality, and consistency are essential. Required Qualifications Applicants must be current GCU students in good academic standing. Prior DJ experience is required, preferably in live event, sports, or esports settings. Candidates must own reliable DJ equipment (controller, laptop, cables, headphones, etc.) and be able to transport and set it up for every scheduled Wednesday night shift. Strong music selection skills, crowd awareness, and the ability to adapt in real time are essential. Dependability and the ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule are mandatory. Serves as a student advocate to navigate through university policy and procedure Follows all policies, procedures and compliance guidelines Works closely with cross functional and support departments to update student information and to resolve student issues Regularly monitors student activity, GPA, and other components for academic progress Consistently meets deadlines and performance expectations set by University Leadership team Understands and learns all software programs/systems to effectively assistant students Qualifies prospective students and accurately enters prospect's contact information into the appropriate system Achieves daily, weekly and monthly goals, as defined by supervisor and department objectives. Represents GCU as an educated advisor, familiar with higher education and assists students through the various steps as part of their decision-making process. Other duties as assigned. Ability to advise students in a highly collaborative manner to select appropriate courses based upon articulated desires and interests and facilitate their decision making process. Required to maintain confidentiality of information. Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment with constant phone contact with students on a daily basis. Must have good critical thinking, judgment and attention to detail. Excellent planning, organization, multi-tasking, and follow up skills to meet standard customer service turnaround times. An ability to help and guide students to clarify academic needs and objectives. Ability to learn GCU educational offerings and programs and to accurately explain to potential students. Ability to work both independently, collaboratively and cooperatively as a team member and willing to learn and work other student services' functions. Proficient with MS Office suite, (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable with navigating and maneuvering other databases and software becoming proficient with GCU systems within a short period of time. Must be available to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends or holidays. Ability to successfully pass background investigations. Education and/or Experience: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution Excellent customer service skills which would be demonstrated in working in a high volume customer service center.
