The Utility Team Member (Dishwasher) is a critical part of the culinary operation, ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and smooth function of the kitchen for a multi-outlet pickleball facility. This venue includes a grab-and-go market, an order-and-pickup restaurant, and event catering, all of which rely on efficient dishwashing and utility support. This individual must be reliable, hardworking, and able to manage their time well in a fast-paced environment. The Utility team member will support the entire kitchen team by cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, equipment, and work areas, while also assisting with basic prep or maintenance tasks as needed. A positive attitude, strong teamwork, and attention to detail are essential to success in this role. The Experience You'll Create: Dishwashing & Sanitation * Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of all dish areas, including sinks, dish machines, racks, and storage spaces. * Follow all sanitation and safety procedures to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment. * Monitor dish machine temperature, chemicals, and functionality, reporting issues promptly. Kitchen & Facility Support * Assist with sweeping, mopping, trash removal, recycling, and general kitchen cleanliness. * Support food prep tasks as requested, such as gathering ingredients, unpacking deliveries, or simple prep. * Maintain clean floors, drains, walls, and other surfaces to ensure a safe workspace for all culinary staff. * Restock necessary items such as gloves, towels, paper goods, and cleaning supplies. Operational Efficiency * Keep up with high-volume dishwashing needs during peak service and events. * Ensure dishes and equipment are returned to the correct locations quickly and neatly. * Maintain organization of storage areas, including dry goods, cleaning supplies, and equipment. * Assist chefs and cooks by ensuring they have clean tools and equipment throughout the shift. Teamwork & Communication * Work closely with cooks, chefs, servers, and event staff to support smooth kitchen operations. * Communicate effectively regarding dish backlogs, equipment issues, or safety concerns. * Contribute positively to a respectful, collaborative, and efficient kitchen culture. * Support additional tasks as needed during busy periods or events. The Porter is responsible for a wide range of heavy cleaning tasks that maintain a clean and presentable environment throughout the Casino facility, including offices. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following) Maintain, stock, and sanitize all washrooms. Wipe out ashtrays, removes cups, bottles, and cans from in between slot machines. Wipe off fingerprints and dust tops of all slot machines. Sweep and mops all hard surface floors and monitors and vacuums all carpeted floors. Scrub hard surface floors with commercial equipment. Extract carpeted floors and gaming tables with commercial equipment. Strip and finish (wax) floors. Dust all low/high surface areas within Kewadin complex and offices. Clean entryway glass. Remove all trash and cleans trash cans. Clean gaming table areas. Sweep and mop all stairwells. Check cleaning equipment before and after use for maintenance needs. Push-in and cleans chairs around gaming tables and slot machines. Keep carts and storage areas clean and organized. Report all maintenance needs to the supervisor. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following) Clean up after functions (weddings, conventions, concerts, etc.). Clean campground shower house (Sault location). Clean rental cabins as directed (Hessel location). Clean Bingo Hall (Sault and St. Ignace locations). All other job-related duties as assigned. The Hotel Iroquois is in the premiere waterfront location on historic Mackinac Island. With 80% of the island protected by a Michigan State Park the island is flush with outdoor recreational activities while having a vibrant business community and tourism industry. Mackinac Island is the number one tourist destination in the Midwest. No cars are on the island, just bicycle, foot and horse traffic. It is like going back in time! With over 10,000 visitors a day it is a great place to live and play. We employ approximately 100 people over the course of the summer season from early May through October. We provide board for our staff. Continental breakfast, light lunch and dinner daily are prepared for you in our staff kitchen and served at prescribed times. We make every effort to provide well-balanced and nutritious meals. Employees enjoy some of the best room and board available on Mackinac at the Hotel Iroquois featuring an apartment style complex out of downtown in the residential district adjoining the State Park property and trails. We are looking for staff who are energetic and interested in meeting new people from other parts of the country as well as other cultures. Responsibilities of the Houseperson include: Clean designated areas including, but not limited to, restrooms and public areas Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning/waxing floors, removing and disposing of trash Greet guests in a friendly manner Report maintenance deficiencies and items in need of repair Stock and maintain supply rooms, as needed Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects, as needed Deliver guest requests and assist in cleaning guest rooms, as needed Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED No experience needed, on the job training provided

This position will be responsible for ensuring the guest room is clean, neat and sanitary for guests. Tasks include cleaning guest rooms, lobbies, elevators, hallways and other hotel facilities. They are the property of the resort and must be turned back in at the end of your shift. Respond immediately to all calls received via the pager, radio, headset or in house phone Report all unusual circumstances to your supervisor - engineering, security or otherwise - damages, illegal situations, etc. Offer all possible assistance to our guests Maintain equipment (ex: carts) in good condition Actively participate in the resort “green” program…reduce, reuse, recycle Provide a teamwork atmosphere, positive attitude and high energy while on the job Complete all assignments requested of you Must follow all resort policy and procedure guidelines Must follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the employee handbook Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort Other duties as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Some housekeeping experience preferred.
