Essential Job Functions: * Perform and record biometric testing results including, but not limited to height, weight, blood pressure, body fat, and BMI (Body Mass Index) * Blood testing including finger stick and / or venipuncture blood draws in a fast-paced environment * Preparation of specimens for storage or additional processing * Set up and break down portable blood draw / biometric station(s) * May need to transport supplies to and from health screening events (lifting up to 20 lbs.) * Maintains the logs and records for all Laboratory transactions and information in accordance with department and regulatory requirements * Must have morning availability (Monday-Friday) for event-based employment * May require other duties as assigned Education: * Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required * Current national certification in Phlebotomy from a Premise Health approved organization OR one of the following: * Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Phlebotomy program with hands-on externship completed * Over 100 successful finger sticks within the last year or a minimum of 200 successful venipuncture blood draws within the last 6 months * Active state specific Phlebotomy certification is required for candidates performing phlebotomy in NV, CA WA, and LA Experience: * 1 year of experience of Health Screening or Phlebotomy experience preferred Knowledge and Skills: * Have outstanding customer service skills * Punctual, responsible, and able to work with limited supervision * Possess professional demeanor and appearance * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Possess a strong attention to detail * Ability to work in a fast-pace environment * Ability to show proof of professional credentialing * Must be available to work a PRN, event-driven position * Ability to pass a full background check and drug screen * Must have reliable transportation * Must be computer / internet savvy * Knowledge and skills necessary to collect blood samples from patients. * Ability to work independently, in a safe and appropriate manner in accordance with * safety and organizational policies and procedures * Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred. Labels and records all test tubes, logs procedures, and files paperwork. Processes and prepares specimens for testing by centrifuging, separating as needed. Is knowledgeable about which color top tube to use and the volume of blood needed - knows test requirements. Follows Standard Precautions at all times. Disposes all sharps in a rigid sharps container. Cleans and supplies venipuncture trays. Maintains work areas. Orders supplies when needed. Requires minimal supervision in the performance of job duties. Completes duties in a time-efficient manner, knows how to prioritize STAT orders, ASAP orders, scheduled orders, and outpatients. Seeks guidance and direction as necessary. Demonstrates the value of the team concept on a consistent basis. Assists laboratory technicians, does clerical work when needed. Job Accountabilities (Responsibilities) Collect specimens according to established procedures. This includes, but not limited to: drug screens, blood samples, processing pathology and cytology samples. Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders by utilizing lab technology systems or directory of services. Responsible for completing all data entry requirements accurately including data entry of patient registration; entry of test order from requisition Enter billing information and collect payments when required, including the safeguarding of assets and credit card information. Data entry and processing specimens including: labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test order. Work iLabs for assigned accounts daily to ensure accurate data is provided for billing purposes. Provide necessary CIR and PPE Resolution reporting to Director as required and scheduled Perform departmental-related clerical duties when assigned such as data entry, inventory, stock supplies, and answer phones when needed. Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures: (i.e. Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Automobile Policies and Procedures, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual); and ensure that all staff members follow instructions. Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct. Mobile Phlebotomist is an experienced phlebotomists responsible for accurate collection and handling of patient laboratory specimens for diagnostic testing in Intermountain and non - Intermountain facilities and various non-medical settings according to established best practice that enhanced patient and caregiver engagement. The Mobile Phlebotomist is part of a group of Caregivers who travel to provide phlebotomy services to patients in settings such as contracted care facilities, patient homes, and health fair settings. They also serve as a member of the Outreach phlebotomy team within Intermountain facilities. This position is responsible to accurately and compassionately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing while working in a professional, medical environment. They communicate closely and frequently with other members of the team, checking in throughout the day.
